NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: On the Thursday, May 30, segment of Fox News' 'Hannity', Sean Hannity took aim at the verdict in the New York v Trump case and issued a stark travel advisory for conservatives, Republicans, and Trump supporters heading to New York City. His message to them was clear - to be wary of the "weaponized Biden criminal justice system".

As per The New York Times, on May 30, Donald J Trump was found guilty on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records to conceal a sexual encounter with adult film actress Stormy Daniels that posed a risk to his 2016 presidential campaign.

Sean Hannity decries Donald Trump's conviction as politically motivated

On the segment, Hannity began his monologue saying, "I have a travel advisory for New York City. If you're conservative or a Republican or a Trump supporter, beware of the weaponized Biden criminal justice system."

"Well, political differences are now considered especially heinous and if New York's powerful Democrats hate your politics, a prison cell might well be in your future or some kind of conviction for something, well, that they make up without a second thought."

Hannity's concerns come in the wake of the conviction of Trump on 34 felony counts. This makes him the first former US president to be convicted of a crime as he makes a bid to return to the White House this November.

"How convenient!" Hannity remarked sarcastically, adding, "But most Americans, including people in that very courtroom, can't even identify the alleged felonies. That's because this is a conviction without a crime against Joe Biden's chief political rival in the middle of a presidential campaign."

The crux of Hannity's argument lay in the nature of the evidence presented during Trump's trial. Hannity slammed the "uncorroborated testimony" from a witness with a questionable track record.

This witness, Hannity noted, is a "serial liar" with admitted ulterior motives and a newfound label as an "admitted thief".

Despite these red flags, Hannity lamented that the left is celebrating Trump's conviction without questioning the integrity of the process.

"They will sing. They will dance. They will high-five gleefully (and) call Trump a convicted felon. Now, they're cheering the end of what would be … equal justice under the law (and) equal application of our laws. ... This is a sad day for our country," said Hannity.

Internet reacts to Sean Hannity's views on Donald Trump's hush money conviction

Sean Hannity faced backlash online for calling the trial verdict a "conviction without crime".

A user said, "Justice wins. Fair and square."

Following suit, another observer questioned Hannity, "Then how did a grand jury get him to trial ? And how did a jury convict him?"

Additionally, a viewer pointed out, "No matter what you think of the system it is still a fact that Trump committed a crime."

A user added, "M0r0n. It's 34 counts of criminal fraud."

A comment read, "Yep and you were wrong again on another prediction. I can't believe after learning there were two attorney's on the Jury you couldn't see the fix was in."

Another comment read, "The truth? You can’t handle the truth!."

A user remarked, "Reality; there were crimes."
