WASHINGTON, DC: Former President Donald Trump expressed his annoyance towards the 2024 White House Correspondents Dinner, where President Joe Biden and 'Saturday Night Live' star Colin Jost poked fun at him left and right, reported the New York Post.

Giving his review on the Truth Social platform, the White House hopeful rated the annual event "really bad."

The glitzy event took place at the Washington Hilton Hotel on April 27, giving journalists and government officials a break from their daily routine. Trump was the only president who broke the decades-long tradition by refusing to participate in any WHCA dinners during his term at the White House.

What did Donald Trump say about WHCA dinner?

Besides giving a negative review to this year's WHCA dinner, Trump also slammed Biden and Jost for mocking him.

"The White House Correspondents' Dinner was really bad," the GOP presumptive nominee wrote. "Colin Jost BOMBED, and Crooked Joe was an absolute disaster! Doesn't get much worse than this!" he remarked.

Biden used the final WHCA dinner of his current term to troll his predecessor. Mockingly retorting to the nickname "Sleepy Joe" Trump gave him, the octagenarian called his opponent "Sleepy Don" in light of his falling asleep during the hush money trial.

Furthermore, the president also quipped on the concerns about his age and ongoing setbacks, saying, "I'm a grown man running against a 6-year-old. Age is the only thing we have in common. My vice president actually endorses me."

Trump's former Vice President Mike Pence refused to endorse the one-time president's 2024 White House race.

Jost, who did the main act in the annual event this year, also roasted the former president's legal battles. "It's after 10 p.m. 'Sleepy Joe' is still awake while Donald Trump has spent the past week falling asleep in court every morning – though Fox News said he was just being anti-woke," the comedian poked fun at Trump's ongoing criminal trial.

Internet mocks Donald Trump

Netizens brutally trolled the former president, calling him "thin-skinned" for blasting the annual event.

"One user wrote, "It seems the missiles hit their target." Another remarked, "'Sleepy Don' can't take a joke."

"Ah yes, because Donald Trump is definitely the authority on what constitutes a good performance at the White House Correspondents' Dinner. It's not like he skipped the event for three straight years because he was too thin-skinned to take a few jokes at his expense," a user added.

One response read, "That means it was hilarious and a complete success." Meanwhile, another quipped, saying, "Oh the 6 year old Presidential candidate is angry…"

"Is there anyone on planet Earth as thin-skinned as Trump?" an individual mocked. Someone else wrote, "Since when are you concerned with an event you were always too scared to attend?"

Another user jokingly added, "You must have slept through most of it, because it was HILARIOUS!"
