'Seething' Jennifer Lopez thinks Ben Affleck is 'gaslighting' her amid their alleged marital feud
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s marital woes don't seem to be coming to an end but have even gotten worse. A source close to the supposedly estranged couple, recently shared with In Touch that the 55-year-old songstress thinks that her husband is almost “gaslighting her” through his fluctuating behavior.
There is speculation that the duo are nearing the end of their relationship, having tied the knot in July 2022.

A source close to the ‘Jenny From The Block’ singer shared with the outlet that Lopez is frustrated with Affleck’s hot and cold behavior toward her as he wears his wedding band one day and is seen without the jewelry on the other.
“The fact that he bought a new home while she was celebrating her birthday in the Hamptons was really humiliating for her,” said the source.
They further noted his fluctuating emotion toward his ring, saying, “Plus, one day he has his ring on, and the next day it’s off — it’s like he’s gaslighting her.” While Lopez had been faithfully wearing her wedding band, as she went out in New York City, she wore her wedding band, not on her usual ring finger. She rather swapped the ring to her right hand.
Meanwhile, the allegedly estranged couple spent July apart from each other including many important occasions. Not only did they spend their anniversary on July 16 apart - with the ‘Gone Girl’ actor in Los Angeles, and the ‘Atlas’ star in the Hamptons, they also spent Lopez’s birthday apart.
Moreover, as his wife was celebrating her birthday in New York on July 24, the ‘Argo’ actor finalized his deal over a $20.5 million bachelor pad in Pacific Palisades. The source continued, “The way Ben ignored their anniversary, then her birthday, while having the tenacity to claim he’s protecting her somehow … it was shocking. It makes J. Lo sick to her stomach. People in their circle are wondering how it’s gotten to this point and become so toxic.”
“Now Ben and JLo are giving each other the silent treatment. JLo doesn’t know how it came to this,” explained the source.
The insider mourned, “She really thought she’d finally found her happily ever after, and then Ben pulled the rug out from under her. She’s putting up a brave front in public, but she’s seething on the inside.”

At the end of July, a source close to the couple dished to Daily Mail that they had prepared their divorce papers and were waiting for an appropriate time to file them. “They finalized the divorce papers with her a month ago, but are waiting for the right time to drop them,” told the source.
They continued, “At that time, they will release a joint statement that will say how they have much love for each other and how they fought to make it work, but couldn't.”
Another source claimed, “Honestly, in the end they could not come to a compromise. What they had before is gone and they have both accepted it.”
Another source shared with In Touch that the duo are mostly communicating with their business assistants and lawyers, claiming, “Whatever civility there was is gone. The gloves are off, and both sides are making demands and refusing to bend.”
The source said, “He’s trying to be a gentleman,” before adding, “but Jennifer finds it annoying, like he’s leaving the dirty work for her. She can’t believe Ben’s gone this route.”
