Selena Gomez recounts bizarre encounter with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs when she was dating Justin Bieber
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Justin Bieber's fans and well-wishers continue to worry about the singer in the wake of Sean 'Diddy' Combs' arrest on serious charges. Amid all this, Bieber's ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez's own weird encounter with the disgraced rapper has come to light.
The 'Only Murders in the Building' actress recalled in a 2016 GQ conversation how Diddy, her then-boyfriend Bieber's mentor, thought she was a valet, years before the music tycoon was detained.
Selena Gomez claims Sean 'Diddy' Combs mistook her for a valet
Going back to 2016, Selena Gomez, who intermittently dated Justin Bieber from 2009 to 2018, stated how her then-boyfriend's mentor once assumed she was a valet and was unaware of who she was.
In a GQ interview, Gomez compared being famous to being among four champagne-drinking individuals, where someone laughs without a joke being told. Then, she said bluntly, "Or when P Diddy gave me his valet ticket once."
"Do you know what I mean?" Gomez, 32, questioned her interviewer Zach Baron, who acknowledged his ignorance.
Gomez clarified, "Because he thought I was the valet lady," to which Baron then exclaimed, "What?!"
Gomez went on to say, "Look, I see all of it. I don't care - I actually laughed hysterically when it happened. But I get it. I know what all of it is," after confirming that her story was true, per The Mirror.
Gomez's ex-boyfriend Bieber reportedly spent a lot of time with Diddy, whose real name is Sean Combs, while he was young. The two collaborated on Diddy's most recent single in September 2023.
The collaboration took place before the chart-topping rapper was the target of current accusations. According to reports, Bieber is appalled by the recent accusations made against Diddy, and an insider discussed the singer's opinions.
Justin Bieber 'disturbed' by Sean 'Diddy' Combs scandal
Sean 'Diddy' Combs, 54, was arrested on September 16 at a hotel in New York City and held without bail on federal accusations of trafficking and racketeering.
The Bad Boy Records founder has refuted all of the accusations, and his lawyer claimed that the music mogul is "an innocent man with nothing to hide".
Although Diddy currently has been imprisoned at Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Centre, old footage of the rapper and a young Bieber continue to be making the rounds on social media, leaving several Bieber fans worried.
Despite having contributed to Diddy's latest album in September 2023, before the rapper was accused, Bieber, who spent a lot of time with Diddy in the past, appears to be regretting his involvement in 'The Love Album: Off The Grid' now.
An insider revealed "Bieber is so disturbed by the Diddy news and is unwilling to process it or discuss it so he has shut off."
Additionally, the source suggested that Bieber, who recently welcomed his first child with his wife Hailey Bieber, has questioned his collaboration with Diddy in light of his most recent action. Bieber reportedly took a "long break" from contacting the rapper.
The source added, "So many people who helped to make him who he is were very close to Diddy and it has completely thrown him."
The 'Peaches' singer is reportedly so furious that he is refusing to comment on the situation.
