Selma Blair shares health improvements and readiness to return to work
While attending Daily Front Row’s ninth annual Fashion Los Angeles Awards, Selma Blair shared how her health has improved and that she’s ready to return to work in a bigger way.

“I am doing amazingly well. I’ve been feeling great for about a year,” Blair told People at the event.
“But I am finally well enough to really, genuinely. I always try and feel my best, but now that I actually have stamina and energy and getting out and going out isn’t so scary," Blair revealed further.
In January, Blair also marked a return to acting with three new films in production: 'Stay Forte', a drama based on the Israel-Hamas war; 'Silent', a supernatural thriller; and 'There There', a twin drama.
“I started feeling really better this last year and I’m back at work and doing things, so I will have things to announce,” Selma Blair said in a conversation with Variety at the time.
Selma Blair reflects on life without dreams after diagnosis
When asked what she looks forward to now, Selma Blair said, “It’s funny, I haven’t spent enough time having dreams. And now it’s like, what are my dreams?”
“I think maybe since the diagnosis. You’re just tired all the time. I spent so much of my life so tired from being unwell that I think I just was trying to get through the day,” she added.
Blair continued, “And now it’s like, wait, I realize I don’t know what my goals are.”
She said her thoughts about the future are now “much more career-oriented” and that she “would love” to return to acting again, noting that she has some movies in the works.
Blair reaffirms commitment to chronic illness advocacy despite shifting focus to career
Though she's excited about her renewed career focus, Selma Blair made it clear that her advocacy for those with chronic illnesses remains important.
“I still am advocating for people with chronic illness and getting better, and what that looks like when you haven’t made your wishes,” Blair told the publication. “How do we give ourselves a new life force?”
In recent years, Blair has emerged as a prominent voice for those battling autoimmune diseases. In October 2023, she met with former President Joe Biden at a White House reception for the Americans with Disabilities Act.
She also published her memoir, 'Mean Baby: A Memoir of Growing Up', in May 2022, where she shared her journey with MS.
