'Sex and the City' alum Jason Lewis resurfaces after 3 years with cryptic message in new video
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: After being away from the public view for three years, Jason Lewis, who famously played Smith on ‘Sex and the City’, has returned.
On Wednesday, May 20, the 54-year-old shared a video of himself where he shared a cryptic message and also explained why it “was time” to come back.
Jason Lewis teases more of his work is coming soon
“Three years ago, I went quiet. Not because I had nothing to say but because I had something to do,” he said in the video.
“The kind of creative work that doesn’t leave room for much else, and I made my peace with that. It’s the kind of work that needs to find its people, though,” Lewis explained before revealing his project details.
He, however, added that he’s “still in it. And I'm far enough along now that it felt like it was time to resurface and share what I've been doing. More to come.”
Lewis captioned the post as “After three years, it was time.”
Jason Lewis was last seen on 'Dancing with the Stars'
The former fashion model’s last public appearance was in 2022 when he participated with Peta Murgatroyd in Season 31 of ‘Dancing with the Stars’.
At the time, he revealed to PEOPLE that he agreed to compete on the insistence of his fiancee, Liz Godwin.
He shared, “I'd always said no to it because I perceived it as reality TV, and it wasn't a point of interest. This year, when the offer came in, my fiancee asked me to be a little less pigheaded and at least take a look at a show.”
“And so I saw [the] first episode she put on the TV, and I was awestruck. It is incredibly beautifully done. The dancers are so talented,” Lewis added.
Jason Lewis was not confident about 'Dancing with the Stars'
The actor also mentioned that Godwin loves ‘Dancing with the Stars’ and when he was paired with Peta Murgatroyd, she was "very thrilled."
“She had her short list of people that she really hoped I was going to end up with and Peta was on it. It's been fun because she's not only kept me up to speed, but it's having somebody to share it with who's really enthusiastic. She's such a great support. Love you, babe!” Lewis stated.
He had also shared with the publication that he was “insecure” because of “zero” dance experience.
“I am not a good dancer. I'm self-conscious. And so the ability to take a space like this that is a fear-based space for myself,” he claimed.
