Meghan Markle 'desperate to correct impressions' made in Omid Scobie's book, claims royal expert
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Following the disaster that ensued from the Dutch translation of Omid Scobie’s royal account ‘Endgame’, Meghan Markle reportedly wants “to correct the impressions.”
In 2021, it was rumored that members of the British royal family gossiped about the complexion of Prince Harry and Meghan’s unborn child.
While the names of the senior royal members never came out, the Dutch translation of ‘Endgame’ accused King Charles and Catherine, Princess of Wales of indulging in the gossip.
However, if the royal expert Tom Bower is to be believed, Meghan is rather disappointed at the revelation. Even though the Sussexes are yet to release a statement addressing the assertion, the royal expert believes the former ‘Suits’ actress is not happy at the revelation.
During an interview with Closer Weekly per OK! Magazine, referring to Meghan, Bower said, "She feels more and more bruised as the year goes on, Meghan is going to want to have her say.”
He also theorized that “whereas Scobie was a disaster, she's going to want to correct the impressions [that she collaborated on the book].”
Bower also addressed the issue of how Scobie obtained the information as he explained, “There's enough people around them and in their orbit who know the ins and outs of things.”
The news outlet further revealed that Meghan “never intended” the names to come out and was rather “dismayed” when that happened.
While Scobie initially said it happened because of a “translation error,” he later defended the mistake by saying, “It's not for me to apologize because I still want to know what's happened.”
‘There are unanswered questions’
Royal commentator and British journalist Jennie Bond recently opened up about the ‘Endgame’ controversy and said after the book was published, Prince Harry and Meghan were asked to release a statement about their involvement.
Bond said in a recent interview, “I think it would be a very good move on their part to state clearly and unequivocally that they have absolutely nothing to do with this book, if that is the case.”
She continued, “Because obviously as long as they stay silent, we all think, ‘well, you know, how could a letter between the King and Meghan Markle, how could that get into the public domain?'"
Referring to the controversial comments made on the book, Bond said, “There are unanswered questions and I think it would be very helpful if they answered.”
The journalist observed, “If they could distance themselves from this rather nasty, snide book, it will be a good move because I don't really know why Omid Scobie has been so just plain unpleasant about so many members of the royal family, particularly Catherine, Princess of Wales.”
'Desperate attempt at brand rehabilitation'
Bower is not the only royal commentator who is hypothesizing that Meghan Markle is willing to correct the unfavorable "impressions."
Recently, a high-ranking courtier said that the Duchess of Sussex is attempting a “brand rehabilitation” following their rift with the British royal family.
Referring to Meghan's recent appearance for a coffee commercial, the high-ranking official shared with In Touch Weekly, per Radar Online, "This is a desperate attempt at brand rehabilitation, to make people forget the damage she's inflicted on Harry's family," before adding, "This is all to boost sales."
They further added that the Duchess is thinking of taking a "different route to success" in 2024 after the dismal 2023.
