LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Simone Biles has shown the world that she is now ready for the biggest stage of athletic competition.

Biles, who received intense flak after unceremoniously withdrawing from the team in the middle of the Tokyo Olympics 2020 (that happened in 2021 due to the pandemic) to prioritize her mental health and sanity, is now competing in the Paris Olympics 2024 with a vengeance.

While showing off her incredible routine, she resorted to the use of Taylor Swift’s song ’Ready For It’. That, however, led many of her fans to wonder whether there is a hidden meaning behind the choice of her routine.

The gymnast, who is already a star, managed to catch the attention of the entire audience with her catchy floor routine accompanied by Taylor Swift’s melody.

The 27-year-old gymnast’s floor routine began with an instrumental version of the introductory music of ‘...Ready For It?’ from Swift’s ‘Reputation’ album.

While it may have meant nothing given the fact that Taylor Swift is at present the most popular artist in the world and Biles is an all-time gold medalist favorite gymnast.

It could have been befitting for Biles to use any of Swift’s songs from her vast canon.

However, given Biles’ history in the Tokyo Olympics, the song holds little more significance.

It makes one wonder whether Biles is making a bold announcement to the world that she is now “ready” to compete on the biggest stage and take on her competitors.

The name of the source album adds another level of intrigue as the Grammy’winner’s album is called ‘Reputation’ - quite befitting Biles’ case as the 2024 Olympics will provide Biles the perfect stage to regain her reputation and show the world her mettle.

However, this is not the first time that Biles has been competing with this floor routine. She used the same routine for the US Olympic trials in late June and also at the 2024 Core Hydration Classic in May.

On Sunday, she scored the day’s highest total by clocking in a score of 14.600 on the floor exercise using the same routine and helped Team USA qualify for the finals.

According to Sporting News, her floor routine comprises of two sets - the Biles and the Biles II. While the Biles is a double layout with a half-turn, the Biles II is a triple-double, with two flips, and three twists.
