'Doing it for her': Simone Biles honors her younger self with adorable side-by-side photos
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Simone Biles recently honored her younger self in a heartfelt tribute on Instagram ahead of her much-awaited Olympic event.
She shared side-by-side photos of her iconic balance beam routine to emphasize her journey, declaring that she is "doing it for her."
In late June, the artistic gymnast, who has 30 World Championship medals and seven Olympic medals, received accolades from Taylor Swift, who couldn't stop praising the athlete over the mesmerizing gymnastics skills she showcased during the US Olympic team trials.
Simone Biles pays tribute to the 'big dreams' she saw as a child
Simone Biles, who began her elite gymnastics career at 14, took to her Instagram Stories on Saturday, July 27, to share side-by-side photos of her performing the same skill on the balance beam.
In both images, the gymnast is captured midair above the beam, with her legs in a split and her arms extended wide. "Doing it for her. Small girl, big dreams, " the six-time all-around World Champion captioned the post, adding a teary-eyed emoji.
In the photo on the left, an older Biles is seen wearing a red, white, and blue leotard adorned with stars, possibly representing Team USA at one of her past Olympic appearances. The photo on the right features a much younger Biles in a black, purple, and green leotard performing the same skill.
It is worth mentioning that, the athlete is set to begin competing in Paris on Sunday, when the women's gymnastics qualifying rounds begin, as per PEOPLE Magazine.
The US women’s gymnastics team consists of four returning Olympians, including Biles, who is expected to bag a few more gold medals in Paris after her setback at the Tokyo Olympics.

In the video, Biles was seen executing what a commentator described as the "hardest tumbling pass in the world" - the triple-double. In 2019, the athlete made history as the first woman to perform the challenging triple-double move at the US Gymnastics Championships in Kansas City, Missouri.
During her June 28 floor routine, Biles also included Travis Scott’s song 'Delresto (Echoes)', featuring Beyonce.
