Simone Biles admits her football knowledge 'might not make sense' despite husband's gymnastics expertise

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Simone Biles has acknowledged that her football knowledge might not make sense to others, even though her husband Jonathan Owens is well-versed in gymnastics.

Despite trying to learn more about the NFL, she finds explaining it to an adult quite challenging.

Jonathan Owens knows 'so much' about gymnastics

In a recent video shared by the official Olympics Instagram account, Simone Biles, 27, mentioned that her husband Jonathan Owens, a 29-year-old safety for the Chicago Bears, knows more about gymnastics than she does about football.

"He knows so much about gymnastics," Biles said during the interview. As for her own understanding of football, Biles humorously noted she "could probably explain it to a 5-year-old" but admitted, "If I'm explaining it to a 25-year-old, it might not make sense."

Biles regularly supports Owens at his NFL games, just as he attends her gymnastics competitions, keeping track of her performances in gymnastics' intricate scoring system.

Simone Biles recently told People that she had "so much" to learn about football after meeting Owens on the dating app Raya in 2020.

"My dad and my brothers were always watching football, but I was never into it," she recalled.  "But I was always at the gym too, it's not like I even had time to get to know it," she said.

Biles would often lead the Texans in her hometown out of the tunnel, but admits she "knew absolutely nothing' about football."

Biles then said she has made progress in learning football terminology and relies on fellow wives and girlfriends for knowledge.

"I've learned so much and even some of his teammates' wives are like, ‘Oh my gosh, you've come so far, you've learned so much,’" Biles told the publication, "because they've seen the journey."

Online reactions to Simone Biles' comments were positive. "She’s so real for that," one person commented on Instagram.

Another added, "She’s so me, me watching football just to see Beyonce."

A fan also commented on her appearance, saying, "She is so cute," while another requested the hat she wore in the video.
