Simone Biles draws flak as she’s caught giving 'death stare' to George Strait’s wife at CMAs

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE: Simone Biles was one of the A-list attendees at the Oscars of country music, the 58th Annual CMA Awards, which was held at the Bridgestone Arena in downtown Nashville on Wednesday, November 20.

However, her seemingly bizarre reaction toward George Strait’s wife Norma Strait has left people on the Internet stunned as well as confused.

Ahead of the event, the legendary artistic gymnast was quite excited to be part of the show that saw a star-studded gathering of people, like Billy Bob Thornton, Katharine McPhee, Jackson Laux, Taylor Frankie Paul, Carly Pearce, and Caleb Pressley, as she posted on her Instagram Story, “Okay, but wait for the glow-up later today.”

Biles also presented an award for female vocalist of the year to singer Lainey Wilson. 

About the experience she said, as per People, “I try to rest as much as possible, but it's always fun to get opportunities to come and do stuff like this because it's fun walking the carpet and meeting new people.”

Simone Biles seemed to cast a side look at George Strait’s wife Norma

A social media page, All About Carrie, shared footage from the awards ceremony on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The account captioned the post as “Simone Biles caught questioning why she came to the CMA Awards during this George Strait tribute performance,” which showed Biles standing near Norma.

In the clip, Norma seemed to be thoroughly enjoying the Lifetime Achievement Award tribute performance for her husband given by Chris Stapleton.

George, also called the 'King of Country Music’, was honored with the prestigious award that night. Thanking his family, the 72-year-old singer said, “It's so great to have y'all here, but especially Norma (his wife) who's supported me for just shy of 53 years,” as per USA Today.

But it was Biles’ bizarre facial expression that caught people’s attention online as she seemed to be rolling her eyes at Norma.

Another clip shared by CMA Country Music on X also showed the 27-year-old Olympian making faces at Norma.

Netizens ask Simone Biles to ‘fix her attitude’

Social media users were quick to call out Simone Biles for her seemingly disinterested reaction while standing in the audience alongside George Strait’s wife Norma Strait.

Another X user tweeted, “Shouldn’t be there.”

“Anybody know if there’s a beef between Simone Biles and George Strait's wife? #CMAawards,” an individual asked.

“😂 I watched that live & was wondering the same thing, then the death stare up and down , she was definitely hating!” the second one shared.
