SPRING, TEXAS: Simone Biles, the most decorated gymnast in history, might be an internationally celebrated athlete, but even she isn’t immune to the occasional case of mistaken identity.

The Olympic icon recently revealed on social media that a group of men mistook her for a contestant from Netflix’s reality dating show 'Too Hot to Handle', Daily Mail

Simone Biles mistaken for Netflix's 'Too Hot to Handle' star

Taking to social media, Biles hilariously recounted the moment, posting:

"These guys just asked if I was from Too Hot to Handle lmao GOODBYE," followed by a string of laughing emojis.

For context, 'Too Hot to Handle' is a popular Netflix reality show where contestants attempt to form meaningful connections while abstaining from physical intimacy.

While Biles undoubtedly commands a world stage, it seemed her legacy as the greatest gymnast of all time flew over the heads of this particular group.

Fans to Biles' rescue

Biles’ loyal fanbase quickly came to her defense, jokingly dragging the clueless men.

One fan shared, "Because they have seen you somewhere ….."

Another wrote, "Technically you are too hot to handle 😮‍💨🥵they weren’t wrong!"

A different viewer pointed out, "…so then you leapt into the air, flipped around six times, stuck a perfect landing, and answered, ‘Always.’"

A follower commented, "If they mean too hot handle winning anything but Olympic gold medals than yes."

One opinion stated, "Asking one of the greatest athletes of ALL TIME that is insane."

Another individual observed, "Bye for real because who doesn’t know THEE Simone Biles unless you have literally been living under a rock? 🤔"

As someone explained, "All those gold medals are too hot to handle 🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇😜."

Others playfully speculated that her resemblance to past 'Too Hot to Handle' contestants like Melinda Berry and Brianna Balram might have caused the confusion.

Simone Biles hilariously handles mistaken identity moment

Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Biles has had to confront someone not knowing who she is.

In 2020, her now-husband, NFL player Jonathan Owens, admitted he didn’t recognize her when they first met on the celebrity dating app Raya.

Biles has since humorously defended Owens multiple times, explaining that his focus on football likely kept him from realizing he was chatting with an Olympic superstar.

However, unlike Owens, who has been warmly embraced by Biles and her fans despite his initial blunder, no such redemption arc appears to be on the horizon for the group of men who thought she was a Netflix reality star.

While the Netflix confusion might sting a little, Biles has nothing to prove.

Her astonishing career boasts seven Olympic medals and a record-breaking 25 World Championship medals, including 4 medals at the Paris Olympics.
