CHICAGO, ILLINOIS: Following an Olympic Games that many deemed successful for Team USA, the eye-popping television viewership figures for women's sports have left decorated gymnast Simone Biles pleasantly surprised.

This comes after Biles—fresh off winning three gold medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics—supported her husband Jonathan Owens by attending the Chicago Bears' preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Simone Biles awed by astounding TV viewership figures for women's Olympic sports

Simone Biles, who was the oldest competitor for the United States in gymnastics at the age of 27, took home three gold and one silver medal from Paris. She further solidified her place among the finest American athletes of the modern age, per Daily Mail.

Increased viewership has resulted from the American women's soccer team's unbeaten record in Paris and their first Olympic gold medal since 2012. Morocco defeated Team USA in the quarterfinals for the men's division.

Both the US basketball teams both took home gold medals, and the women's rugby sevens team earned their first-ever bronze.

With a strong emphasis on Team USA, Biles included an illustration showcasing the achievements of women's sports in Paris with five pairs of eyeball emojis.

According to the illustration, a world record-breaking crowd of over 66,000 people attended the women's rugby competition's opening match.

More people watched the USA women's basketball team's match versus Japan than all of the basketball games at the Tokyo Olympics combined, excluding the gold medal games, with a combined viewership of 3 million on Peacock and USA.

The most watched Olympic soccer match in NBC history was the women's soccer final between Team USA and Brazil, which drew an average of 9 million people.

To wrap up the graphic, 12.7 million people watched the live NBC and Peacock broadcast of the women's team gymnastics final, where Biles led Team USA to a gold medal.

That number surpasses both the first round of the NFL Draft and all of the previous year's NBA Finals games combined.

Simone Biles makes two-word statement following contentious NFL wardrobe blunder

One day after drawing ire from NFL fans, Simone Biles broke her silence on social media on Sunday, August 18, with a short and heartfelt message.

The gymnast, who is still rejoicing over her three gold medals from the Olympics in Paris, stirred controversy on Saturday, August 17, during a contentious gameday match at Soldier Field.

Biles supported her husband, Jonathan Owens, by wearing a custom jacket featuring printed black-and-white photographs of Owens during the Chicago Bears preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

However, the Olympic legend committed an NFL rookie mistake which showed Owens playing for the Green Bay Packers, the Bears' longtime bitter rivals, and his former squad.

Even though Biles dabbled in football controversy, the Olympic all-around champion from the Paris Games dismissed the criticism by stating her allegiances.

Biles posted on her social media accounts, expressing her support for Owens and Chicago with the message "bear down," with little over two weeks until the 2024 NFL season begins.

The acclaimed gymnast posted two pictures of herself at the famous stadium, making sure to cover up any Packers logos on her jacket.

Biles has not declared whether her Olympic career ended in Paris or if she will continue to be in sufficient form to try to make Team USA at age 31 when the spectacle takes place in Los Angeles in 2028.
