LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In a new interview, Snoop Dogg made it clear that he is an ally of the LGBTQ+ community.
This comes two months after the rapper sparked backlash for saying he was "scared to go to the movies now" after coming across a same-sex scene while watching Disney's 'Lightyear' with his grandson.
Snoop Dogg on celebrating diversity

"It's a beautiful thing that kids can have parents of all walks and be shown love, to be taught what love is… whether it’s two fathers, two mothers, whatever it is, love is the key," the 53-year-old rapper said in a segment for GLAAD's Spirit Day — an annual LGBTQ+ awareness day.
"I think these kids are being loved by these great parents that are, you know, showing them an example of what family is," he added.
He said this in a chat with Jeremy Beloate, an artist who is a member of the LGBTQ community and was part of Team Snoop on 'The Voice'.
Both worked together on ‘Love Is Love’, a new single for the rapper's new animated YouTube children's show, 'Doggyland'. Snoop said that 'Love Is Love' was written in an effort to teach "parenthood" and "the situation that kids and the world are going through right now in a beautiful way."

In August, Snoop Dogg faced backlash when he said on the 'It's Giving' podcast that he felt uneasy explaining the LGBTQ+ relationships in the Disney film 'Lightyear' to his grandson.
He said, "They're like, 'She had a baby with another woman' — well, my grandson, in the middle of the movie, is like, 'Papa Snoop? How she have a baby with a woman? She's a woman!'"
"They just said, she and she had a baby — they're both women — how does she have a baby? I didn’t come here for this s***, I just came to watch the G****** movie," Snoop remarked, adding he was "scared to go to the movies now."
"Like, y’all throwing me in the middle of s*** that I don’t have an answer for ... it threw me for a loop. I'm like, 'What part of the movie was this?' These are kids. We have to show that at this age? They're going to ask questions. I don't have the answer,” he futher said.
Snoop Dogg's previous response to backlash
Snoop Dogg later clarified his remarks in response to an Instagram post where Ts Madison criticized his comments.
He explained that he was caught off guard and unsure how to explain the situation to his grandchildren.
Expressing a willingness to learn, he said, “My bad for not knowing the answers for a 6-year-old… teach me how to learn, I’m not perfect.”
