Sophie Turner reveals enduring 'mom guilt' as media portrayed her negatively after split with Joe Jonas

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Sophie Turner has candidly addressed the challenges of motherhood in the wake of her messy divorce from estranged husband Joe Jonas.

The 'Game of Thrones' star reflected on her feelings about the negative portrayal of her as a mother during her highly publicized split in her interview with British Vogue.

Speaking about the strain she experienced while being away from her children and how the media portrayed her absence, Turner said, "I remember I was on set, I was contracted to be on set for another two weeks, so I couldn't leave."

"My kids were in the States and I couldn't get to them because I had to finish Joan. And all these articles started coming out..." the actress shared.

"It hurt because I really do completely torture myself over every move I make as a mother. Mom guilt is so real!" she added.

"I just kept having to say to myself, 'None of this is true. You are a good mum and you've never been a partier,'" added Turner who shares two children, Willa, three, and Delphine, 22 months, with Jonas.

The split between Jonas and Turner became public after the 'See No More' singer filed for a dissolution of marriage from his wife of four years.

The September 5, 2023 filing in Miami claimed that "the marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken."

The 26-year-old actress then sued Jonas for wrongful retention and accused him of withholding their daughters' passports and preventing them from returning to England.

The legal complaint demanded "the immediate return of children wrongfully removed or wrongfully retained," pinpointing that the "wrongful retention" began on September 20, 2023.

In January, both parties reached a resolution after they agreed to have the legal filing dismissed "with prejudice, and without attorneys’ fees, expenses, costs and/or disbursements awarded to either party" following the approval of their parenting agreement in the UK on January 11.

Following her divorce from Jonas, the actress has now disclosed that she is dating again.

“I am having fun dating. It’s very fun. I mean, it’s strange when you get married so young. It’s like you never really learn how to date. So it’s all very new to me," said Turner.
