LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Spencer Pratt is celebrating the power of social media, and particularly TikTok after he revealed his earnings from the app after he and his wife Heidi Montag’s Los Angeles home was destroyed in the wildfire.
Just a few days before TikTok stopped working for 170 million US users due to safety concerns, Spencer, 41, gushed about the “unbelievable and incredible” support he got from his TikTok fans during the family’s crisis.
A week after the family lost their Pacific Palisades home in the Los Angeles wildfire, ‘The Hills’ alum revealed how much he had earned from his social media activities and content creation in the aftermath of the tragedy.

In an interview with Variety published on Friday, January 17, Spencer Pratt shared, “I made, like, $4,000 on TikTok this week," before adding, "But on TikTok Live, where people can just give to me direct, I think maybe $20,000.”
“So that’s phenomenal, and life-changing,” gushed the social media star, before highlighting the contribution of his fans by saying, “That’s the power of individual supporters, people just backing you and getting behind you.”
He further explained, "And that’s the most powerful when you don't have to rely on ads or AI and algorithms when just actual human beings just want to give. It's unbelievable and incredible."
Recalling the nightmare of losing their home, the Internet’s new darling shared, “It’s just the weirdest, craziest time,” before adding what made him push for Montag’s 15-year-old album ‘Superficial’ on social media.
“When everything was going on, I saw an email pop up that the album was going live, and I was like, ‘Oh, my God.’ I just made a TikTok reminding people to stream. I was looking for anything income-wise,” Pratt added.
TikTok faces uncertainty in the US
Spencer Pratt’s revelation about his income from TikTok came just before the Chinese-made app issued a statement on January 19, over the ban in the US, writing, "In agreement with our service providers, TikTok is in the process of restoring service."

Meanwhile, President-elect Donald Trump, who will take office on January 20, has called for the app to remain available.
In a statement on Truth Social, Trump said, "I will issue an executive order on Monday to extend the period of time before the law’s prohibitions take effect, so that we can make a deal to protect our national security."
Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag lost their home which was ‘paid for’ by them
On January 8, Spencer Pratt shared that the LA wildfire gutted his and Heidi’s Pacific Palisades home, which they shared with their sons, Gunner, seven, and Ryker, two. The reality star has been steadily sharing updates on the evacuation from their homes and the destruction that has been brought by the blaze that has decimated most of the neighborhoods in Los Angeles.
As the confusion - and concern - ensued regarding their property loss initially, Pratt took to his TikTok at that time, to address the matter of their wealth, E! News reported.

As Montag’s ‘Superficial’ hit its 15th anniversary, Pratt relentlessly promoted the album to his social media followers to boost revenue.
As more than one song from the album rose to the top of the charts, an emotional Montag thanked her fans in an emotional video from January 13.
Meanwhile, fans have also shown support for the couple by answering Pratt's plea to stream his wife's 2010 alum 'Superficial'.
She said in the emotional video, “Thank you everyone who went on the iTunes charts,” adding, “Thank you for the overwhelming love and support for my music and really rallying behind us at a devastating time and making it such a blessing. So, thank you for helping support us."
