NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle joked about her experience of trying to set up an interview with President-elect Donald Trump after his infamous Madison Square Garden rally in October, during her appearance on Lukas Thimm's live variety stage show 'So Many Issues.'

Ruhle said that Trump used profanity to shut her down but in doing so demonstrated a greater level of access for the press than outgoing President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. According to the report published by the Independent on Tuesday, December 17, Ruhle claimed that Biden and Harris were nearly impossible to contact directly as a result of buffers put on by their staff.

The MSG rally had reportedly made headlines for promoting "fascist" far-right views, with a comedian describing Puerto Rico as a "floating island of garbage" adding to the outrage.

On his show, Stephanie Ruhle told Lukas Thimm that she attempted to get Donald Trump to talk about the fallout of the rally ahead of the general election.

"I wasn’t calling to chit-chat. I said, ‘Mr President, this is Stephanie Ruhle, you made a lot of comments last night,’ blah-blah-blah,” she said, adding "It was not an on-the-record conversation, so I’m not going to get into what he said."

"But I called for one reason. I said, ‘You just said a whole bunch of public things. I’d like to sit down for an interview with you. We’ve got five days before the election.’ So we didn’t get anything, there’s nothing for me to report. I called, I said I want an interview. Obviously, he said no," she further said.

The journalist chose this moment to highlight how reachable Trump was compared to his political rivals, stating, "But my point is, I was able to get to him by dialing his phone. Now that might be completely apes**t and you’re like, ‘I can’t believe people know this guy’s phone number,’ but the reverse of that, if I were to want to connect with VP Harris or President Biden, there’s 50 people between me and that. I could write a note that maybe could get to somebody to get somebody, then through Pony Express and a pigeon something might end up in a mailbox near them.”

However, she noted that Trump denied her the interview, joking, "And I called DJT to say, ‘Yo, can I get an interview?’ And he told me to go f**k myself, but I still was able to connect with him."

Internet reacts to Stephanie Ruhle's claim

Netizens, especially conservatives, reacting to Stephanie Ruhle's statement on the show cheered Donald Trump for his response.

"The only reasonable response," wrote a user.

"I'd vote for him again if I could just based on this alone," quipped another.

"Based if true," noted a third.

"Good for TRUMP!" stated a fourth.

"Point is he took the call. And I would have said the same thing," jibed a fifth.

"Sounds like our president alright. Good for him," expressed yet another.
