NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK:  Sports analyst Stephen A. Smith, recently offered praise for President Trump while slamming Democrats for their attacks on him.

Smith spoke on the podcast 'Joe and Jada', which aired on Tuesday, November 25.

The remarks were directed at Democrats pursuing legal and political pressure against Trump during the former President Joe Biden’s presidency.

Stephen A. Smith on Democrats and Trump’s legal battles

During the podcast, Smith criticized Democrats for attempting to prosecute Trump, saying, “I told him [Biden] with Trump. Let it go. What you trying to put him in jail for? They did everything they could to prevent him from being the president.”

Smith emphasized that Trump’s actions are motivated by his unfair treatment, stating, “Trump ain't going after these people, man, because of the election. He going after these people because they tried to get him to spend the rest of his life in f***ing prison."

He continued, "He approaching 80 years older. You tried to throw him behind bars. He coming. He coming.”

Smith then went on to describe the sense of betrayal Trump felt, noting, “Like, wait a minute. You mot*******ing smile in my face. You coming to my casinos. You coming to the hotel."

Recalling past interaction, he said, "Y'all all know we all sports fans. We saw Trump at every one of the events. We were all cool with him. We weren't calling him ra***st then.”

Smith elaborated on Trump’s perspective regarding his legal challenges, explaining that the president felt targeted even after the election results were confirmed, “So it's like he looking at it and he going like, he's trying to put me in prison. They ain't trying to get me like, January 6th, insurrection, all of that. All right, fine. I leave y'all."

He further said, "You know, y'all confirm Biden going to be your president. I'm out. And you still coming for me. You trying to throw me in prison.”

Smith then reminded listeners of the absurd legal charges Trump faced, noting, “The charges in New York. And what was the charge in New York? Oh, let's remind ourselves of this. 34 felony counts and all that sh*t.”

Stephen A. Smith praises Trump’s political strategy

Smith had previously also addressed Trump’s approach toward the Democratic Party during an episode of his podcast, 'Straight Shooter with Stephen A.'

“At some point in time, we just have to give the man credit. He’s shrewd as hell!”, said Smith in response to Trump’s pardon of Democratic Congressman Henry Cuellar.

He further said, “He is giving the Democratic Party lessons! Lessons! I mean, school is in session on how to manipulate minds and coax folks into thinking along the lines of his way of thinking.”

Trump pardoned Cuellar and his wife, who were indicted last year for allegedly accepting nearly $600,000 in bribes from two foreign entities in an alleged scheme that spanned seven years.

The president accused Biden, whose Justice Department indicted the Cuellars, of targeting his political opponents, even within his own party.

The political move of pardoning a member of his opposing party was 'brilliant! Absolutely, positively brilliant politics!', Smith said.

He argued, because it demonstrated that 'everything is not partisan.'

Smith recommended that Democrats move to the political center, “Get away from the far left. Move towards the center, And Trump beat them to it. He beat them to it. That’s what he’s doing!"
