LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In the latest development of the ongoing saga surrounding Donald Trump's legal battles, late-night host Stephen Colbert has once again taken the opportunity to inject humor into the situation.

This time, Colbert's target was Trump's alleged courtroom siesta during his criminal trial related to the Stormy Daniels hush money case.

Stephen Colbert remains skeptical amid denials

Reports surfaced earlier in the week suggesting that the former president had nodded off during proceedings.

Trump's camp was quick to deny these claims, but Colbert, never one to shy away from poking fun, remained skeptical. "He took a little white power nap," Colbert quipped on his 'Late Show,' casting doubt on the assertions of Trump's allies.

As the trial continued into Tuesday, Colbert couldn't resist revisiting the topic. With a humorous tone, he remarked, "Today, he was sharp, focused ― and he fell asleep again."

This time, however, Colbert highlighted an intriguing detail: courtroom sketches that appeared to show Trump catching some Z's.

Stephen Colbert's wit continues

Despite Trump's team maintaining that he was fully alert throughout the proceedings, Colbert couldn't help but point out the apparent contradiction. "I think we found the new mascot for the Celestial Seasonings Sleepy Crime Tea," Colbert joked, accompanied by an image of the courtroom sketch in question.

In addition to Trump's courtroom naps, Colbert humorously commented on the former president's legal maneuvers. Trump's efforts to secure excused absences from specific trial dates, such as one to attend Supreme Court arguments, faced opposition from the judge.

Colbert playfully envisioned Trump's desires to be elsewhere, intertwining jokes about Supreme Court justices and the scheduling conflicts surrounding his son's graduation.

"Trump asked if he could attend his son's High School graduation on May 17th with Merchan responding it really depends on if we are on time and where we are in the trial but he has to go to his graduation."

Internet reacts to Trump's legal troubles

User reactions to Trump's actions and legal troubles provide a colorful backdrop to the ongoing saga.

One user wrote, "Turns out, Trump didn't attend ANY of his kid's graduations."

Another added, "According to Mary Trump, Trump's niece, he has never gone to his other children's high school graduations but suddenly he needs to go to Barron's graduation."

One user commented, "I'd rather vote for an 81 year old than someone facing 91 criminal charges." [sic]

A user replied, "After his deep slumber, Donald Trump will eventually wake up to listen to his own conviction."

Another user said, "New Yorkers have hated Trump since the 80s getting a fully unbiased jury is going to take forever." [sic]
