LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Meghan Markle has often impressed people with her style sense while mostly appearing in black, white, or beige.

However, whenever the former actress has decided to go more glamorous, her color choice has always been scarlet red.

Now, Kate Jones, stylist at House of Colour, has disclosed the reason behind the preference.

Meghan Markle wears red to show ‘strength and courage’

Kate Jones told MailOnline, “The color red traditionally represents power, opulence, passion and love. It's bold and exciting, especially if worn top to toe.”

“It tells your audience that you are a confident person who isn't afraid to be noticed. Meghan would also be drawn to the color because it represents strength and courage, characteristics I believe she is keen to project,” she stated.

Jones also shared that red is kind of a universal color that “suits absolutely every skin tone and yet many people are too shy to wear it".

She added, “Whether Meghan has had her colors analyzed or not, she's probably been advised that it suits her - and she does look fabulous in red; it illuminates her skin, helping it to sparkle and shine.”

The Duchess of Sussex was seen in red at a charity gala in Los Angeles last month.

For the event, she reportedly repeated her Carolina Herrera silk dress, which she wore previously in 2021 at the Salute to Freedom Gala in New York.

Earlier, she had teamed up the gown with a detachable overskirt but for last month’s event, she ditched it.

Also, in May, during the Women in Leadership panel event in Nigeria, the 43-year old British royal was seen in a red crepe dress by Nigerian designer Orire, featuring the strappy neckline and ruffled hem.

Another important event that Meghan attended in red was the Mountbatten Festival of Music in 2020 when she looked mesmerizing in a dress by Safiyaa, worth $1,660 (£1,295).

“It's worth noting that the effect of red on Meghan is particularly striking, as she is often seen in chic neutral colors, such as black, navy, beige and cream. So, when she wears red, we can assume she's making a concerted effort to be noticed,” Jones mentioned.

Meghan Markle loves to ‘stand out from the crowd’

Even for last year’s One Young World summit in Manchester, Meghan Markle chose a red blouse and a matching pair of trousers.

She also chose red Aquazzura heels and Tabayer's gold jewelry.

For her Birkenhead visit in January 2019, Meghan did not leave red.

Though she went for a purple Aritzia dress, she added a red coat by Sentale to it. She even opted for a pair of Stuart Weitzman Nouveau Suede Pumps in red.

Jones asserted, “Red is a color that makes you stand out from the crowd - something that would appeal to Meghan.”

However, it’s not like red became a favorite of Meghan after marrying into the royal family. Even in 2006, during her appearance on the TV game show ‘Deal Or No Deal’, she was reportedly seen in a skimpy mini dress of scarlet red color.
