LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Robert Pattinson has experimented with various voices and accents in his roles, leaving many unsure of what he sounds like in real life.

'The Batman' star's fiancee, Suki Waterhouse, offered a glimpse into his posh accent that left fans stunned.

In a recent segment for Elle Magazine, Waterhouse made a prank call to Pattinson about hosting a gig, and social media was quick to spot that the actor sounded miles apart from his characters.

Suki Waterhouse, 32, prank-called Robert Pattinson as part of the magazine's 'Phoning It In' video series, attempting to persuade him to co-host the reality TV series 'Love Is Blind', as per Metro.

As Waterhouse explained which show she was talking about, saying it felt like a "sociological experiment," Pattinson chimed in with a totally different accent unknown to his fans.

"Interesting, what an interesting turn of events," said the 'Twilight' actor.

Waterhouse then tried to convince him to co-host the show alongside her, prompting Pattinson to ask, "Darling, have you gone mad."

Further into the conversation, the actor apparently realized it was a prank call. He asked whether she was "joking," and if it was part of "some TV show."

"No, you’re not on TV, you are gonna be on the internet though," Waterhouse said, earning a squeaky "no, I don't want to" from the other side.

Robert Pattinson uses a different voice for his characters

Matt Reeves, director of 'The Batman' revealed to GQ in a 2022 interview that Robert Pattinson uses a different voice for his onscreen characters.

"Recently, Rob was telling me that he never plays a character with exactly his voice. The voice is one of his ways in," Reeves said.

For instance, his voice in the upcoming film 'Mickey 17' would sound alien to what fans heard on the phone call with Waterhouse.

Speaking to Empire, the actor said that his voice inspiration for the movie, directed by Academy Award winner Bong Joon-ho, was from 'The Ren and Stimpy Show's titular characters, chihuahua and Manx cat.

Robert Pattinson's unexpected "posh" British accent left fans feeling mind-blown and amused, with many admitting they had no idea how he sounded offscreen.

"I'm obsessed with how he speaks like an old english grandmother," one user said. [sic]

"'AW YOU JOE KING?' Is gonna eat EVERY TIME LMAOO also I did NOT know Robert Pattinson’s British accent was so prim and proper LOL I’m crying," another remarked.
