Swifties convinced these two songs from Taylor Swift's 'TTPD' are about ex Matty Healy

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Taylor Swift’s fans are convinced that her ‘Fortnight’ song from her latest album — ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ — is about her ex, Matty Healy.

The pop sensation and the English singer-songwriter were reportedly first linked with each other in 2014 before they reconnected in 2023 for some time.

Fan shares details about the similarities

One of the very evident resemblances between ‘Fortnight’ and Healy’s indie art pop band 1975 is the black and white setup, E! News reported.

Swift has collaborated with Post Malone on the song and its music video shows them donning long black coats with pants and loafers, which is very similar to Healy’s band's style for their 2022 song ‘Part of the Band.’

The song also features Malone with actors Ethan Hawke and Josh Charles wearing lab coats and glasses, seemingly mirroring The 1975's uniform for ‘At Their Very Best Tour’.

The publication citing a fan of Kelsie Carlos’ TikTok video stated, “They actually had most of the stage crew wearing the lab coats during the entire show. When the second leg of the tour started up, Matty started wearing these lab coats with the glasses.”

Not only that but Swift was also seen wearing a headpiece in the song that appeared like the record producer’s crown Healy donned in ‘Part of the Band’.

Meanwhile, the song’s lyrics go like, “And I love you, it's ruining my life. I touched you, for only a fortnight.”

“At dinner, you take my ring off my middle finger and put it on the one people put wedding rings on. And that’s the closest I’ve come to my heart exploding,” it added.

‘But Daddy I Love Him’ apparently refers to Taylor Swift’s romance with Matty Healy

Swift’s ‘But Daddy I Love Him’ is also being connected to Healy as despite being criticized for being with the singer, who received backlash for his controversial statements, she chose him.

In the song, she said, “No I'm not coming to my senses. I know it's crazy but he's the one I want.”

This comes after the ‘Lover’ singer earlier spoke about ‘Fortnight’ with iHeartRadio and called it “fatalistic”.

‘I personally think that Fortnight is for Matty Healy’

X is also abuzz after the release of ‘Fortnight’.

A user tweeted, “This aesthetic of the photos from the ‘Fortnight’ music video reminds me of something.”

Another user wrote, “I personally think that Fortnight and But Daddy I Love Him is for Matty Healy #thetorturedpoetsdepartment #taylorswift #the1975 #mattyhealy.”

The third one said, “Y'all gotta accept that fortnight, title track, down bad, but daddy I love him, fresh out the slammer, guilty as sin? I can fix him, chloe or sam or Sophia or marcu ARE ABOUT MATTY HEALY (and maybe more).”

 

“So obsessed with fortnight I don't care if it's about Matty Healy,” the fourth user stated.

The fifth one added, “Fortnight is the first song because it actually introduces us to how Matty Healy appeared in the story and there's only a couple joe songs on the first album because the album is like a timeline since 2021 until 2023 and the anthology is completes the empty spaces in the timeline.”
