Swifties wanted Chiefs to lose to Bills so Travis Kelce could attend Grammys with Taylor Swift

KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI: Taylor Swift’s fans are generally known for their never-ending support for their idol and her boyfriend Travis Kelce. 

More often than not, the dedicated fans of the 14-time Grammy-winning singer can be seen cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs, and more specifically, their tight end, when they achieve spectacular sporting feats. 

However, recently, a section of the Swifties were left divided in their loyalty when the Chiefs took on the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship game on Sunday, January 26.

As reported by Whiskey Riff, a section of the Swifties were left hoping for the Chiefs’ defeat, as that could have ensured Travis Kelce’s appearance at the Grammy Awards which is scheduled to take place on Sunday, February 2, just a week before the defending champions take on their arch-rival, Philadelphia Eagles on February 9, in New Orleans. 

As Swift was present at the GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday to witness her boyfriend’s team clinch the AFC Champion title while securing the berth to the Super Bowl on February 9, a section of the ‘Lover’ singer’s fans started manifesting the team’s loss on social media. 

Some of them even conjectured that if the Chiefs lost on Sunday, Kelce would have been free to attend the Grammys next week, marking his red-carpet debut with his lady love. 

Nevertheless, the fans’ attempt at manifestation failed to make an impact as the Chiefs defeated the Buffalo Bills maintaining a scoreline of 32-29, marching their way to the Super Bowl. Elated, Swift joined the Chiefs in their celebration and planted a passionate kiss on her boyfriend as they made a spectacular win. 

While Kelce's attendance at the Grammy is still a mystery, fans can expect a replay of the 2024 Super Bowl where Swift made a dramatic entry after wrapping up her Eras Tour concert in Tokyo and traveling over half the globe to cheer for Kelce. 

The two-time defending champions are taking on the Eagles during the Super Bowl, which would also mark the rematch of their Super Bowl game of 2023, which the Chiefs eventually won and started their dream run in recent NFL history.

Several fans over the internet were left anxious about the outcome of the match and were left to wonder whether Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift would be able to attend the Grammys together. During the match, some Swifties even tried to manifest a defeat for the Chiefs as in that way, the Chiefs' tight end would have been free to attend the award show. 

One social media user said, "Chiefs gotta lose so travis can be taylor’s date to the grammys. sorry, we need to see it. we gotta see them on the red carpet together, imagine their f**king glam bot shot."

"Taylor and Patrick Mahomes fighting at Chiefs practice over whether Travis is going to the Grammys or the Super Bowl," quipped someone else over a clip of Miley Cyrus at an award show with two shadowy figures wrestling for power. 

Another fan chimed in during the match, "Torn between wanting the Chiefs to win so Taylor is at the Super Bowl and then losing which means Travis could go the Grammys 😭."

"Swifties yall gotta band together and manifest the chiefs to lose...then travis can walk the grammys carpet and yall win either way (go birds)," penned another fan, hoping for the Chiefs to lose.

Another social media penned, wondering, "Now that the Chiefs are playing in the Super Bowl, would Travis be able to accompany Taylor to the Grammy Awards, which will take place the week before the Super Bowl? 🤔"

"Okay I'm now nervous for the Grammy and chiefs vs eagles Superbowl rematch.....," another concerned fan said.
