LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In a surprising turn of events, the 'Skyfall' singer, Adele, recently revealed disappointing news in an interview that she is now focusing on other creative pursuits instead of music.

After her Las Vegas residency and the upcoming shows in Munich, the singer is 'eager to explore other creative things'. She also mentioned that she needs a "big break."

Adele shares her thoughts on creating new music

On Sunday, July 14th, Adele was interviewed by German broadcaster ZDF.  When asked about plans for a new album to follow her 2021 release, '30', Adele revealed that her “tank is quite empty” after an extensive period of performances.

She described this emotional journey as deeply meaningful but exhausting. Adele stated, "I don’t have any plans for new music, at all. I want a big break after this and I think I want to do other creative things, just for a little while."

'Easy On Me' singer then remarked, “You know, I don’t even sing at home at all. How strange is that?" as per Hollywood Reporter.

She also expressed her humble attitude towards fame, saying, "I don’t like being famous. I love making music and that people are receptive to it and like it…but the fame side of it, I hate and I miss everything about who I was [before becoming a celebrity],"

Reports confirm that Adele has taken her time between albums over the years, releasing her debut, 19, in 2008, followed by 21 in 2011, 25 in 2015, and her fourth album, 30, in 2021.

What did Adele say about making new music in 2023?

In a December 2023 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Adele revealed that she "hadn't even thought about" making new music. "I have to wait for a feeling," she explained. "If I get antsy, that’s when I know I have to go to the studio, and I am the opposite of antsy right now."

Regarding other creative ventures, Adele mentioned there’s only one movie role she would ever want, but "the guy whose movie it would be, he’s not mentally ready to write the script for it." She added, "That’s the only role I ever want. Because I think I’d nail it. I think I’d do really, really, really good at it."

The 'Hello' singer is scheduled to perform a series of residency shows in Germany at the Munich Messe arena from August 2 to August 24, which she announced in January on Instagram.
