Taylor Red singer Nicole Taylor dies at 35 after four-year battle with breast cancer
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Nicole Taylor, a member of the country music trio Taylor Red, who gained a massive online following alongside her identical triplet sisters, Nika and Natalie Taylor, died at 35 on September 28 following a battle with breast cancer.
Her sisters announced her death in an emotional video posted on November 2, revealing that they had hoped she would recover and share her story herself.

“This isn’t the video we thought we’d ever be making,” Natalie said in the video.
“We thought she would be here sharing her story of earthly healing, but instead we’re here sharing her story of heavenly healing.”
Nika and Natalie said Nicole was at peace and no longer suffering. In a memorial published on Taylor Red’s website, they described their sister, who was the eldest of the triplets by just a few minutes, as “our leader and our best friend.”
“We are heartbroken, but we know she is in Heaven and will see her again,” they wrote. The family also confirmed that a private funeral service had been held.
Nicole was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in 2022. Her sisters described the cancer as aggressive and said the diagnosis came as a shock to their family.

During a 2023 interview with SurvivorNet, Nicole recalled discovering a lump in her breast in February 2022.
She described it as feeling like “a little AAA battery.” Following a mammogram and examination, she was initially advised to monitor it and return after six months.
However, when she went back, the lump had doubled or tripled in size. A subsequent biopsy confirmed the cancer diagnosis.
Nicole, who had no family history of breast cancer, credited her faith and medical team for supporting her throughout treatment.
Three days after receiving the diagnosis, her family and friends began praying for her every day at 3:18 pm, referencing the triplets' shared birthday of March 18, 1991.
“I definitely believe God has worked miracles through this,” she said during the interview, adding that she wanted to give others “some hope and some positivity.”
Nicole Taylor's music career and life amid stage 4 cancer
Nicole remained determined to live life to the fullest throughout her illness and continued doing CrossFit even while undergoing chemotherapy, Natalie revealed.
Her treatment initially appeared successful, and after completing chemotherapy, she was told there was no evidence of disease.
However, the cancer eventually progressed to stage 4, according to her family.
Despite undergoing surgery and further treatment, Nicole continued working, travelling and making the most of life.
She also remained hopeful as her condition advanced. Recalling her sister's outlook, Natalie said, “She said, ‘We’re not going to live in dread during all of this.’”
Music had been an important part of the triplets' lives since childhood.
They grew up playing instruments together, including the guitar, banjo, fiddle and mandolin. They initially performed under the name Red Roots before eventually becoming Taylor Red.

In an episode of the 'Hope Ignited' podcast, the three sisters discussed their music, creative process and how Nicole's cancer diagnosis had strengthened their bond.
Beyond her musical contributions, Nicole played an important leadership role within the family and the trio.
As the oldest sister, she often took charge, spoke up for her siblings and was never afraid to stand her ground.
“She was always the one who would speak on behalf of us,” Natalie recalled in the video announcing her death.
