Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce eye joint business venture taking cue from Patrick and Brittany Mahomes
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are reportedly eyeing a significant business venture together that could involve owning a sports team in the future.
According to Life and Style, the couple aims to "grow their bank accounts and influence together", with potential plans to delve into the business side of sports.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have big plans for joint business venture
When it comes to teaming up for a joint business venture, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's friends Patrick and Brittany Mahomes, who co-own the Kansas City Current women’s soccer team and have a stake in the Kansas City Royals, serve as an inspiration.
Patrick is also the first active NFL player to hold a stake in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL).
However, the report suggests that Kelce and Swift may start by launching their own liquor brand before eventually pursuing sports team ownership.
Accoring to the Daily Mail, a source shared insights into their plans, stating: "The sky is the limit as far as what they can do together with their combined reach, so they’re looking at all kinds of opportunities where they could team up and the liquor business is a really obvious choice."
The source continued, noting, "There's so much money to be made and it’s a very organic fit because they genuinely love making cocktails together and cutting loose."
Beyond the liquor industry, Kelce and Swift are exploring various projects, including a joint production company and sports team ownership. Their overarching goal is to expand their financial influence together.
Travis Kelce discusses complexities of NFL team ownership and analyst role
However, navigating NFL team ownership may prove complicated for Travis Kelce. In a June episode of his 'New Heights' podcast, he expressed interest in following Tom Brady as an NFL analyst but acknowledged the complexities that come with ownership.
He mentioned Brady's attempts to buy a small stake in the Las Vegas Raiders, which faced hurdles before being approved.
Kelce stated, "I would rather try and buy the Chiefs or be a minority stake owner in the Chiefs."
His brother Jason humorously replied, "I don't know that it matters how much a minority stake is, I don't think we can afford it."
Travis added, "You can't call the game or do anything like that, because of the whole Tom Brady thing. He wanted to have a minority stake in the Raiders and it messed with his TV deal."
The NFL had to establish rules for Brady to navigate his dual role as an owner and analyst, limiting his ability to criticize referees or visit team facilities during the week.
However, the successful arrangement could encourage Kelce, demonstrating that if he truly desires both analyst and ownership roles, an agreement is possible.
The three-time Super Bowl champion has a keen interest in various sports, recently attending a Yankees-Guardians playoff game with Swift and expressing his passion for hockey and basketball.
