Taylor Swift issues fierce response after being subpoenaed in Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni legal case

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Taylor Swift’s team has reportedly expressed their anger after the pop sensation was officially subpoenaed as a witness in Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni's legal drama, which began on the set of ‘It Ends With Us’.
Swift was sent a legal notice on Friday, May 9, by Baldoni’s team, as reported by the Daily Mail.
But the Grammy winner’s reps have blasted the notice, claiming she has nothing to do with the issue between the ‘Gossip Girl’ star and Baldoni.

Taylor Swift’s rep denies her involvement in ‘any casting or creative decisions’
In a statement to the publication, a spokesperson for Taylor Swift said, “Taylor Swift never set foot on the set of this movie, she was not involved in any casting or creative decisions, she did not score the film, she never saw an edit or made any notes on the film, she did not even see 'It Ends With Us' until weeks after its public release, and was traveling around the globe during 2023 and 2024 headlining the biggest tour in history.”
The rep also noted that the 35-year-old singer’s only involvement in the movie was agreeing to the inclusion of her song ‘My Tears Ricochet’.

“Given that her involvement was licensing a song for the film, which 19 other artists also did, this document subpoena is designed to use Taylor Swift’s name to draw public interest by creating tabloid clickbait instead of focusing on the facts of the case,” they added.
Blake Lively confirms to testify in her trial
This came after Blake Lively’s attorney, Mike Gottlieb, spoke with PEOPLE, revealing that the 37-year-old actress will take a stand in her upcoming trial against the ‘Jane the Virgin’ actor.

“The ultimate moment for a plaintiff's story to be told is at trial. We expect that to be the case here [with Lively]. So we would, of course, expect her to be a witness at her trial. Of course, she’s going to testify,” the lawyer shared.
Gottlieb also mentioned that there will be other people to testify in the case. He said, “There are individuals that were witnesses to or experienced misconduct that is relevant to Ms Lively's claims. We expect their testimony, particularly about what took place on set, will come out through live witness testimony.”
Regarding Taylor Swift and Hugh Jackman, he added, “It’s completely unclear what claims or defenses in the case any of these celebrities have any relevance to at all.

“This is a case about what happened to Blake Lively when she raised claims of sexual harassment on the set.”
“It’s not a case about how songs were chosen for the movie. It’s not a case about fictional Marvel characters in Deadpool movies,” Gottlieb asserted.
He continued, "You have to ask the question, then, why are these people being subpoenaed? Do they have any actual relevance to the case at hand? You can't just go around subpoenaing people because they're famous and you think it will generate a bunch of headlines. And the federal courts don't tolerate that kind of behavior."
