Taylor Swift is currently in London and will be performing at Wembley Stadium till August 20, when she will take a break. Her next show is set to take place in mid-November in Toronto, Canada. The Democratic contender for president, Kamala Harris, will take over as the running mate for the 2024 general election from current Joe Biden during the Democratic National Convention (DNC) between August 19–22.

Owing to the break in Swift's tour itinerary, there are a ton of online speculations that the singer will be attending the DNC and may even be joining Harris on stage on the last day. Someone even inquired on X (formerly Twitter): "So Taylor Swift has the 20-22 off from her tour hmm will she be making an appearance at the DNC for Kamala Harris?"

On Saturday, August 17, former Republican Representative Liz Cheney and her daughter Elizabeth Perry were spotted delighting in Taylor Swift's energetic performance at London's Wembley Stadium. The 58-year-old politician shared the occasion on X (formerly Twitter), along with a heartfelt message about her grandmother, Marjorie Lorraine Dickey. However, it appeared that the Internet was not impressed by her sweet gesture.

The former congresswoman cited the lyrics of Swift's track 'Majorie', which is about her grandmother, Marjorie Finlay, an opera singer. "Never be so kind you forget to be clever. Never be so clever you forget to be kind...Never be so polite you forget your power. Never wield such power you forget to be polite," wrote Cheney.

Netizens, particularly MAGA fans, made fun of lawmaker Liz Cheney shortly after she tweeted her post about attending Swift's London show. An enraged MAGA fan posted, saying, "I hope you enjoyed yourself as you’re a traitor to this Country and when Trump wins and the 1/6 committee is investigated, you will be convicted for your blatant lies, deception and destruction of evidence. America deserves the truth, not your treasonous lies. Travel home safe."

The 1980s actor Rob Lowe recently offered his thoughts on Taylor Swift's quick ascent to stardom, drawing comparisons between her current situation and his own at the prime of his career. Lowe, who became famous for his parts in movies such as 'The Outsiders' and 'St Elmo's Fire,' compared his level of recognition to that of contemporary celebrities like Justin Bieber, Austin Butler, and most notably, Swift.

He recalled the intensity of celebrity during his peak, how fans would go to great lengths to meet him, even requiring police escorts to help them through crowds. The 'Parks and Recreation' star sought treatment in a rehab facility as a result of the heavy public attention, and he is currently celebrating 34 years sober.

When considering Swift's enormous popularity, the 'St Elmo's Fire' star, who called working with his son John Owen a "nightmare," remarked, "I watch that, and it's what I went through on 'gazillion steroids'." Now 60, Lowe looked back on his experiences in shock. In a recent interview, he stated, "It's the kind of stuff you look back on and go, did that really happen?"
