The audience's overwhelming reaction led to a lengthy applause, prompting Swift to express her gratitude. She picked up the microphone and said, âIt is genuinely such an honor to play for a crowd like this. The fact that you would do that for us â I love you so much, Liverpool. Thank you.â
Swiftâs emotional display came on the heels of her 100th Eras Tour show earlier in the week. Her next stop on the tour is Cardiff on Tuesday, followed by shows in London from June 21 to June 23.

Swiftâs emotional night coincided with her ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn breaking his silence about their split. The couple, who were together for more than six years, officially ended their relationship in April 2023. In an interview with the Times published on Saturday, Alwyn, 33, opened up about the challenges of their breakup.
âI would hope that anyone and everyone can empathize and understand the difficulties that come with the end of a long, loving, fully committed relationship of over six and a half years,â Alwyn said. âThat is a hard thing to navigate.â

He expressed frustration about the public scrutiny following their breakup. âWhat is unusual and abnormal in this situation is that, one week later, itâs suddenly in the public domain and the outside world is able to weigh in,â he added. He noted how the fame of their relationship complicated the breakup by thrusting it into the media âwhere it is then dissected, speculated on, pulled out of shape beyond recognition.â
Alwyn accepted the inevitability of public speculation, stating, âThe truth is, to that last point, there is always going to be a gap between what is known and what is said. I have made my peace with that.â
Joe Alwyn clarifies 'The Black Dog' reference
Alwyn also addressed a specific reference from Swiftâs latest album, 'The Tortured Poets Department', where she sings about seeing an ex at The Black Dog pub in London. Alwyn clarified that he has never visited the pub. âWhile I enjoy seeing friends, traveling, going to the pub,â he said, âIâve never been to Vauxhall.â The pub in question is located at 112 Vauxhall Walk.
In the song 'The Black Dog', Swift sings about seeing an ex âwalk into some bar called The Black Dogâ to âpierce new holes in (her) heart.â This reference has since turned the pub into a landmark for Swift's fans, who have started purchasing merch inspired by the song.
Swift, who has since moved on publicly with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, continues to captivate audiences on her Eras Tour.
