WASHINGTON, DC: Pop icon Taylor Swift dropped a bombshell by endorsing Kamala Harris for president, a move reportedly triggered by Donald Trump's "arrogant" debate performance.

The 'Cruel Summer' singer had been reportedly torn for weeks over publicly backing a candidate in the upcoming election in November.

However, Trump’s accusations of Democrats wanting to “execute babies” and claims about migrants eating pets pushed Swift to take a stand.

“She found his diatribe to be downright frightening,” a source revealed, Daily Mail reported.

Trump’s behavior — described as “dishonest, arrogant, crass and the worst part about all of it was that he was unapologetic about it," —was enough to make the megastar throw her weight behind Harris.

''[She knew] it was time to stand again on the side of history by supporting a candidate who could help create a country free from hate, inequality, division and racism,' the source shared.

"Taylor will likely be making a donation to the campaign. Aware of the immense political influence her voice and fanbase carry, Taylor endorsed Kamala — for herself, her fans, her rights as a woman, and even for her cat, Meredith."

Taylor Swift's pal Brittany Mahomes backs Donald Trump

Taylor Swift, who has been romantically linked to NFL star Travis Kelce, has also faced criticism over her close friendship with Brittany Mahomes, wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Brittany’s public support of Trump, including liking pro-MAGA posts on Instagram, caused a stir, but the 'Blank Space' singers endorsement of Harris sends a clear message about where she stands.

Donald Trump shrugs off Taylor Swift, praises Brittany Mahomes support

Despite Taylor Swift’s strong stance, former President Donald Trump brushed off the endorsement, claiming he valued Brittany Mahomes' support more than Swift's.

“I was not a Taylor Swift fan,” Trump remarked, calling her “very liberal” and dismissing her backing of Harris with a "cat lady" joke.

"She seems to always endorse a Democrat she will probably pay a price for it in the marketplace. But, no. I like Brittany. I think Brittany is great. She got a lot of news last week. She's is a big MAGA fan that's the one I like more than Taylor Swift," Fox News reported.

This isn’t Swift’s first foray into politics. She endorsed Joe Biden in the 2020 election and backed Hillary Clinton in 2016, famously accusing Trump of running the presidency like "an autocracy."
