Taylor Swift’s overheard date night 'baby talks' hint at her future plans with Travis Kelce
NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA: Taylor Swift’s date-night conversation with Travis Kelce has once again reignited speculation about the couple possibly welcoming a baby in the near future.
On the eve of the Super Bowl, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end and his Grammy winner girlfriend went on a date night where they were joined by Kelce’s teammate Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany Mahomes.
As the couples headed out for the pre-game day date night at Lilette, a French restaurant near the Mississippi in New Orleans, an insider who was present there shared that the conversation steered toward a topic that the Tayvis fans have been waiting for with bated breath.
Apart from revealing the 35-year-old pop star’s plan to take a “gap year,” the source told Daily Mail that there was “lots of baby talk” during the evening.
Taylor Swift is ‘not against’ the idea of welcoming a child
Describing the date night, the onlooker shared that Travis Kelce, 35, acted like a perfectly chivalrous boyfriend when he pulled out a chair for his girlfriend. After settling down, the athlete was spotted stroking Swift's lower back.
After the couple had ordered burgers and fries, the conversation steered into the topic of children, as Mahomes had recently welcomed their latest child.
The source dished to Daily Mail, “There was lots of baby talk,” before adding, “Since Patrick and Brittany have just had their latest [child], Brittany was showing pictures, and they were all talking about how happy they were.”
The speculation was also validated by other sources who opened up about the global superstar’s future plans with her beau.
Taking the “gap year,” insiders spilled that Swift would be focusing on her relationship with Kelce, adding that she is “not against” the idea of marriage and children.
“Taylor's friends believe that now is the perfect time in her life to marry and have children. They have expressed this to her, and she is not against it at all,” a tipster revealed before adding, “Taylor has never felt love like this. It is unconditional.”
The couple’s romance came to the fore when the ‘Lover’ singer attended an NFL match between the Chiefs and the Chicago Bears at Arrowhead Stadium in September 2023. However, it was revealed later that the couple had been dating since the summer of that year.

Since then, there has been no looking back, with the Grammy winner attending more than a dozen of the Chiefs’ matches and Kelce returning the favor when he attended several Eras Tour concerts in various locations around the globe.
Another source further delved into Swift’s future career plan while reflecting on her billion-dollar Eras Tour. “Nothing will ever be able to trump the Eras tour, and she is so proud of that, but it took a lot out of her,” shared the insider.
They continued, “For the first time in years, Taylor has no definitive plan; she is taking a year off. That means that she will not be doing any tours or shows. [Travis and Taylor] are both in it for the long haul, and they both want the same things, which is a forever romance and a family.”
While Swift is not against the idea of welcoming a baby, her parents are also of the opinion that the NFL star would make a great father.
The ‘Lavender Haze’ singer’s parents, Andrea and Scott Swift, who have already given their blessings to the couple, would reportedly be happy if they finally decide to travel the baby path.
“Although there is no pressure, [Andrea and Scott] believe that Travis would make a great father,” shared the source.
Travis Kelce’s parents want him to ‘settle down’
Andrea and Scott Swift are, however, not the only set of parents to want their daughter to settle down. Kelce’s parents, Ed and Donna Kelce, are reportedly also on board with the idea.
They are said to be looking forward to the time when their NFL superstar son would “settle down and have kids.”
A source claimed that the Chiefs’ tight end is “constantly compared to his older brother Jason [Kelce],” who already welcomed three children with his wife, Kylie, with another on the way.
A Kelce family source revealed, “Jason and Kylie want their kids to grow up with cousins,” before adding, “Travis and Taylor have both achieved everything that they ever wanted – massive success and enough money for ten lifetimes. The only thing that they do not have is a family of their own.”
