AUSTIN, TEXAS: Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) called out President Joe Biden for labeling supporters of GOP nominee Donald Trump as "garbage" during the October 30 episode of his 'Verdict' podcast, reported The Daily Wire.

Cruz informed co-host Ben Ferguson that Biden's remark reflected the views of many top Democratic officials, though he did not expect the incumbent to voice such sentiments publicly before the election.

The controversial comments from Biden came after Trump's Sunday rally at the Madison Square Garden, where comedian Tony Hinchcliffe compared Puerto Rico to a floating island of "garbage" in the "middle of the ocean."

During a get-out-the-vote call for Voto Latino, Biden reacted to the comment, saying, "The only garbage I see floating out there is his (Trump's) supporters. His, his demonization of Latinos is unconscionable and it’s un-American. It’s totally contrary to everything we’ve done, everything we’ve been."

Ted Cruz's take on Joe Biden's remarks

Ted Cruz claimed that the incumbent's quote "really is a viciousness," and the White House was “desperately trying” to mask the true intent behind the words.

Referring to former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton's jibe against Trump supporters in 2016, Cruz said, "This is deplorables all over again."

“You remember Barack Obama saying that Americans are bitter and angry and clinging to their God and their guns,” he continued. “I mean, this is what they think. It’s what Obama thinks, it’s what Hillary thinks, it’s what Joe Biden thinks. It’s definitely what Kamala thinks.”

The senator accused Democratic leadership of considering voters as "deplorable" if they raise the issue of high prices and growing crime rates. However, he believed that they were not ready for Biden to say it outright, and were planning to continue their campaign by labeling Trump 'Hitler.'

“I don’t think this was planned. It’s one thing to try to demonize Donald Trump. It’s another thing and a much stupider thing, to try to demonize America, to try to demonize half the voters in America," he stated.

"Now, they believe it. They believe that we’re garbage. They believe we’re deplorables. But they try to suppress that instinct because they recognize that some of their voters, some of the voters they’re trying to presumably earn their votes. And you know, it’s typically a bad strategy in campaigning to say, ‘Hey, you piece of garbage, vote for me.’”

Internet trolls Ted Cruz over his claims

Netizens reacting to Ted Cruz's podcast message on the social media platform X trolled him for going after Biden while defending the hateful rhetoric delivered by Trump and MAGA. The following tweets demonstrate the predominant takes.

"Trump called the entire nation garbage. Thoughts?" asked a user.

"Cruz is propping up a guy that calls Democrats the 'real enemy' and 'vermin'. And he thinks Democrats look down on MAGAs? Cruz is the arrogant one. He always has been," wrote another.

"Trump has been insulting everyone, including calling America a trash can, for the last 9 years. Spare us your crocodile tears. Never seen a more beta male who is so easily triggered than Ted Cruz," shared a third.

"The amount of hypocrisy that you are literally projecting right now is actually astounding," jibed a fourth.

"If the shoe fits Teddy, then you should wear it with pride!!" mocked a fifth.
