Teddi Mellencamp prepares for radiation after painful removal of 4 brain tumors: 'Staples out'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Teddi Mellencamp is moving forward in her recovery journey as she is undergoing surgery to remove four brain tumors.

The 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' star, 43, shared an update with her followers on Friday, February 28, by posting a selfie on Instagram.

Teddi Mellencamp's recovery milestone

Sharing a selfie of her lying down and smiling, Teddi Mellencamp wrote, "Staples out and ready for radiation."

Her hair, shaved to a buzz cut for the procedure, appeared darker than usual.

Support poured in from her 'Real Housewives' co-stars, including Kyle Richards, who commented, "Gorgeous as ever." Miami’s Marysol Patton added, "Prettiest Patient, I love the buzz cut!!."

Cynthia Bailey and Tamra Judge also sent messages of encouragement, with Judge writing, "I’m so sorry you have to go through this. I love you so much. Keep being your strong self."

Inside Teddi Mellencamp's tough battle: From diagnosis to surgery

Earlier in February, Teddi Mellencamp revealed her diagnosis, explaining that she had been experiencing "debilitating" headaches for weeks.

"Yesterday, the pain was unbearable and required hospitalization," she shared in a February 12 Instagram post.

"After a CT scan and MRI, doctors found multiple tumors on my brain, which they believe have been growing for at least six months," she added.

Initially, doctors planned to remove two tumors surgically while treating the remaining ones with radiation.

However, during surgery, they removed twice as many as expected.

Teddi Mellencamp's family and loved ones stand by her side

Despite filing for divorce from Edwin Arroyave in November 2024 after 13 years of marriage, Teddi Mellencamp had her husband's support throughout the ordeal.

Arroyave released a statement expressing his admiration for her strength, "Teddi is beyond grateful for the outpouring of love while she continues to recover."

On Wednesday, February 26, Mellencamp documented the removal of her surgical staples on Instagram Stories, expressing gratitude for her medical team.

"I am so grateful for the incredible surgeons, doctors, and nurses who made my surgery a success and my recovery process comfortable," she wrote.

"In full transparency, more tumors were removed than expected: four in total. This fight is not over, but that round has been won," she added.

As she prepares for radiation treatment, Mellencamp continues to keep her supporters updated, thanking them for their unwavering support.

"As I move on to the next steps in my treatment, I just wanted to say thank you to everybody for the outpouring of love and prayers. I see them, and they’re definitely helping me stay strong," she said.
