Terrifying moments unfold as cops rush to save choking 3-year-old in intense video
RIALTO, CALIFORNIA: For one mother in California, the few minutes after she pulled her car to the side of the road on Wednesday, August 5 must have felt endless.
Her 3-year-old son had suddenly stopped breathing, leaving her clutching his limp body as she waited for help.
Then the police arrived. Bodycam footage captures the frantic rescue that followed, as Rialto officers fought to clear the boy’s airway and bring him back.

Cops save a choking boy
The frightening episode unfolded around 12.10 pm near East Foothill Boulevard in Rialto, according to police.
The boy’s mother had been driving when she realized her son was choking.
She pulled over and called 911, but by the time officers reached her, the situation had become far more serious. The child was unconscious and not breathing.
Bodycam footage shows the mother on the sidewalk with her son as officers quickly move toward them.
One officer returned to his vehicle and brought out a LifeVac, a suction device used to help remove an obstruction from an airway. There was no time to waste.

Officers placed the boy on the ground and began working to clear his airway. The footage shows them repeatedly trying to dislodge the obstruction while his mother watched nearby.
Then came the moment everyone was waiting for. The child finally took a breath.
Cops rush child to hospital
The child reportedly regained consciousness after the officers' efforts, according to the Rialto Police Department.
For his mother, however, those moments remain difficult to describe. “I felt my son was dying on me,” she recalled while speaking to media outlets later.
The boy was taken to a local hospital by the Rialto Fire Department for further treatment.
Additional footage shows a striking change from the chaos on the roadside.
The child is seen sitting with his mother on a hospital bed, recovering from the ordeal, while she thanks the officers who had rushed to help him.
Days after incident, the video of heroic rescue is being widely shared across social media.
Rialto Police Captain Lamont Quarker reportedly told media outlets that the rescue demonstrated why first responders need both training and tools that can be used during medical emergencies as he praised the officers for exemplary presence of mind.
