Kelly mused that "more and more young women are doing this" and that changing one's face to such a degree indicates "mental illness."
"She’s got the Kim Kardashian lips. She’s made her nose so skinny it looks like a pencil now. She’s got, like, what appear[s] to me to be cheek implants. It’s not about an objection to plastic surgery, it’s about an obsession with turning yourself into this fake version of yourself," Kelly added.
Erin Moriarty reveals she endured internet trolling due to Megyn Kelly's video
Hitting back at Kelly's comments, Moriarty posted a lengthy Instagram message stating she was "horrified" by the "disgustingly false" accusations.
Moriarty explained that the older photo used was from before she had turned 21, while the newer image had contouring makeup that made her facial features look more defined.
The actress said she felt Kelly used misogynistic rhetoric and false information to shame her. Moriarty declared, "You don't have to believe me when I say these videos are absolutely false."
In her Instagram post, Moriarty revealed that intense bullying and harassment from internet trolls has left her heartbroken in the wake of Kelly's video. Moriarty wrote that she has had to delete abusive comments and false information intended to "perpetuate a message that is exhibitionist feminism."
"You never know what someone is going through," Moriarty reflected, saying there is never an excuse for the damaging words directed at her.
