LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Vice President Kamala Harris’s team has chosen to unsettle Donald Trump and his allies by calling them 'weird', but 'The View' host Joy Behar isn’t fully supportive of this approach.

Instead she wants the Democrats to call Trump for what he is - a convicted felon.

The show kicked off with the hosts humorously discussing the barrage of insults directed at Harris by the GOP. Moderator Whoopi Goldberg pointed out that it’s unlikely Harris will encounter anything new in these attacks.

Whoopi Goldberg encourages creativity in GOP criticisms and Joy Behar advocates for directness

Whoopi Goldberg suggested that if the GOP is going to continue their harsh criticisms, they might as well be "creative" about it.

The panel found amusement in the GOP’s reaction to being branded "weird," noting that they felt the term was quite fitting given their behavior.

However, Joy Behar stood out as a dissenting voice. While she acknowledged the absurdity of the GOP's actions, she contended that "weird" might not be the best choice of words.

“I don’t agree with that. I don’t think you should use the word weird,” Behar said. She argued instead for a more direct approach, advocating that Harris should simply call Trump "a convicted felon."

Sunny Hostin backs direct approach while Alyssa Farah Griffin defends mildness in approach

Co-host Sunny Hostin agreed with Behar’s suggestion, labeling it as a stronger, more accurate term.

Yet, Alyssa Farah Griffin countered that "weird" is relatively mild, especially given the derogatory comments Trump has made about both President Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

Behar further argued that using vague terms like "weird" could backfire, giving Trump and his allies a chance to retort with criticisms of their own.

“It opens the door for the other side to say ‘Well you think we’re weird, look at you'. It’s too much weird name-calling,” Behar said.

She advised taking the high road by focusing on factual descriptions rather than subjective labels.

Social media reactions to Joy Behar's reservation on calling Trump 'weird'

Social media users had diverse reactions to Joy Behar's critique of Kamala Harris' use of the term "weird" to describe Trump and his supporters

One user wrote, "But they ARE weird, which is actually an understatement."

Another user commented, "I wouldn't take any advise from Joy.  She's weird."

One person said, "Joy is right, because that's calling his supporters weird. They already have been called a basket of deplorable. That didn't work. They need to reach out to people and be inclusive. People go to Trump rallies the way they join religions that solicit door to door. It's a sense of belonging as much as politics. Be more positive in messaging."

Another user replied, "Joy is a joke!  Does she actually think people care what she says and or thinks?  I mean except for the 7 people that watch The View of course!"

One added, "Behar's TDS is out of control. So sad she is. "
