Bowen Yang's remark about JD Vance stuns 'The View' hosts
While the conversation on the Thursday, April 24, episode of the 'The View' started off in a lighthearted manner, things took a sharp and hilarious turn once Bowen Yang brought up a controversial coincidence involving JD Vance and the death of Pope Francis.
During the segment, 'The View' host Sarah Haines asked Yang whether it was true that he initially didn’t want to portray Vance on 'SNL'.
Yang responded by admitting, “I just thought there would be better people for it.”

“It was my impostor syndrome, I was like, there are better people than this,” Yang added.
“I worked with an accent coach, I had to get it between Ohio and Appalachia with the accent. It’s hard, it’s very subtle!" he further said.
The hosts agreed it was a hard role but he “nailed it". This led the comedian to take things further with a shocking joke.
Without hesitation, Yang said, “I mean he’s… look, the guy’s a pope killer, okay?” in reference to Pope Francis’ death shortly after meeting Vance on April 21.

The vice president was one of the last leaders to meet with Pope Francis on Easter Sunday before his death was announced less than 24 hours later. The internet erupted with memes and quips aimed at Vance after the pope's death.
