LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The hosts of 'The View' tackled President Donald Trump's recent tariffs move during their April 10 episode, diving into the political and financial consequences of his decision to pause tariff enforcement.

Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, Sunny Hostin, and Alyssa Farah Griffin discussed whether Trump acted with any strategy at all or if he used his Truth Social post and tariff decisions to benefit those close to him.

Sunny Hostin slams Donald Trump’s 'buy now' post as open corruption

Sunny Hostin accused Donald Trump of openly engaging in unethical behavior after he posted in all caps on Truth Social, “THIS IS A GREAT TIME TO BUY!!!”

She called attention to how this could be a message aimed at wealthy investors who might profit from buying low before the market shifted.

“I think what’s fascinating to me is that the corruption is just completely out in the open at this point,” Hostin said.

Hostin explained, “That’s really a whistle to those billionaires that can — or people that have money — that can buy low and then the stock market prices go up.”

She added, “That’s generally called insider trading, and that would ordinarily trigger an investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission.”

Even as the Democrats have already called for an investigation, Hostin said she doubted one would happen.

“Someone with knowledge of an economic policy change that would cause the markets to shoot back up right before posting about how great a time it is to buy right before the policy change happened would certainly be guilty of insider trading in my view,” she said.

Whoopi Goldberg chimed in by saying, “Let’s see if somebody brings it to court, say hey ‘what about the this.’”

Sara Haines blasts Donald Trump’s tariff chaos as aimless

Sara Haines voiced her frustration over the confusion around the administration’s tariff decisions.

“They’re creating one problem and saying, ‘No, let’s bring it all home for the American workers.’ I haven’t heard one plan about how they’re going to build all this manufacturing,” said Haines.

Alyssa Farah Griffin showed hesitation in concluding, saying she didn’t believe there was any solid strategy behind Trump’s decisions.

Haines reacted to a clip of the US trade representative’s testimony that suggested it was planned and responded, “He definitely did not plan this. I’m going to second Alyssa in that there was no strategy here.”

“What happened was he was trying to go hard, and one by one, he lost everyone,” Haines added.

Ana Navarro criticizes Donald Trump for inflicting distress over trade games

Ana Navarro criticized Donald Trump’s tariff strategy by questioning his intent.

“What kind of government leader puts his people through this kind of distress and sadness and anxiety just for giggles?” she said per TV Insider.

Navarro also pointed out that the continued tariffs on China and the 10% tariffs on other imports could still have negative consequences.

Hostin's accusations come as Trump appears in an online video where he allegedly claims his billionaire friends made billions through tariffs and stock market manipulation.

Internet reacts to 'The View' hosts' tariff take

Online reactions to the segment were mixed, with Donald Trump supporters mocking the hosts and critics targeting the POTUS.

“This should be called the Donald Trump hour! These people on the show don't have a clue it is absolutely hilarious!” one person wrote on X.

Another said, “All of their material is written for them. It's all scripted. They do have a true hatred for Trump.”

“Sunny talking honesty that’s a bunch of crap!” one user added, while another commented, “Trump loves to stir things up and get the media all wound up and in a tizzy. He probably spent the whole week laughing at all of them.”

Others took aim at Trump directly. “He changes his mind more than he changes his underwear. Both stink,” wrote one user.

Another commented, “Without Trump and your hatred for him? Your all would be out of a job!”

One mocked Goldberg writing, "Low IQ whoopie."
