MANHATTAN, NEW YORK CITY: On the May 24 episode of 'The View', the panel criticized former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley for backing Donald Trump after previously denouncing him during the GOP primary.

The panel's comments come after Haley made her first public comments on May 22, since exiting the 2024 race, declaring her endorsement for Trump over President Joe Biden in the upcoming November election, drawing a stark contrast to her earlier stance, where she had labeled Trump as unfit for the presidency and urged GOP voters to move beyond him to defeat Biden.

'The View' accuses Nikki Haley as 'flip-flopper' and not an 'earnest politician'

Highlighting Haley's shift, moderator Whoopi Goldberg accused Haley of "flip-flopping" on her criticisms of Trump, asserting that "she’s not consistent."

On the other hand, co-host, Alyssa Farah Griffin expressed her "disappointment" but acknowledged she wasn't surprised by Haley's decision to support Trump, while also encouraging Biden to appeal to former Haley primary voters in the general election.

Sarah Haines argued that Haley “should have owned that lane and stayed true to it." She added, "I think she just buried herself for the future on this. There’s no credibility. She lacked it and she flip-flopped a lot, but she really could have had a moment with how she pulled through on those primaries.”

Hostin suggested that Haley’s decision was driven by her “future in politics,” implying that she had to change her position to maintain her career.

She then remarked, "It just seems like you know people have like ten lives and in politics, especially in the Republican Party…I’ve always said she was a flip-flopper."

She added, "She couldn’t be trusted. And I think this is about her future in politics with the Republican Party which is really the Trump Party. She was never an earnest politician."

"If one exists. I think Barack Obama was an earnest politician. I think we did have some in the White House. But, you know, I’m not surprised. I called it as you know it," Hostin concluded.

Griffin chuckled and added, "The shade. The shade is so strong."

Netizens divided over the panel's comments on Nikki Haley

'The View's comments on Nikki Haley shiting gears and supporting Trump over Biden received mixed reactions from viewers.

One viewer expressed, "Well you should tell them that Kamala Harris did the same thing!! She bad mouthed Biden then became his VP," giving an example of how it is common in politics.

Another viewer shared a similar sentiment, "This happens all the time in politics. Stop it."

One viewer pointed out, "Oh that's funny. What these women do is not analysis. All these hosts on network TV are simply paid influencers for the Democrat Party."

However, others supported 'The View', especially Hostin as one follower observed, "Honestly, so many people owe Sunny an apology. She called it early and was bashed in comment sections (like this) and other outlets for her criticisms of Hailey."

One comment stated, "Sunny was right all along. She was the only one that always said Nikki Haley would flip-flop and she was right."
