The View's Sara Haines calls out Whoopi Goldberg for trying to steal toys in embarrassing on-air moment

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: ‘The View’ star Whoopi Goldberg was recently called out for her quirky behavior on the set of the daytime talk show.

The 68-year-old was trying to steal an object during a special segment on the show and failed miserably while doing it.

Her co-star Sara Haines caught her in the act and gave her an earful for trying to run away with the toy which was on display during the special Christmas segment.

Recently, both Goldberg and Haines participated in the Hot Holiday Toys segment on the show.

Toy expert Elizabeth Werner appeared on the talk show to bring out the latest toys and gifts for children from Target, which were all priced at $25 and under.

The first item that Elizabeth showed the hosts was a Santa Kindness Ornament that played a video of Santa asking children to do acts of kindness. 

The second toy was Bitzee, a 3D digital pet that Goldberg seemed to be really interested in.

She tried to pet the fake animal and held it up for everyone to see. Elizabeth closed the box the animal was in and so did Goldberg and Haines.

As they moved on to the next item, Goldberg put the Bitzee in her pocket and tried to act casual.

Her co-star, Haines hit her on the shoulder and laughed as they moved on.

As Elizabeth introduced the next toy, a noise was heard and Goldberg leaned down to pick up, seemingly, the Bitzee, from the floor.

"Oh, a Bitzee," Elizabeth said. However, Haines got to it first and held up Goldberg’s stolen Bitzee.

"When you try to walk off with things, Whoopi, sometimes we drop them," Haines said calmly, handing it back to her co-host.

"She didn't quite get it in the pocket," Elizabeth chuckled.

As the toy expert went on to talk about the other toy, Goldberg put the Bitzee back on the table with the others.

During the Tuesday, December 12 show, the panelists discussed friends and relationships with ex-partners during Hot Topics.

On this topic, Goldberg said, “Uh wait, hold up! Listen! It's like an ex. If you marry someone, there was a friendship there, first and foremost. That's why I don't have a problem being friends with my exes."

She went on, "Because I like them for a reason, and even when they did something that I didn't think was OK”

One of the producers interrupted Goldberg as she spoke, who mimed a "talking too much" motion with his hand.

She saw him and replied, "OK, I see you, I see you, I don't care.” The producer laughed about Whoopi's unbothered reaction
