COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA: On Monday, February 26, Nikki Haley, the Republican presidential hopeful, dismissed the notion of launching an independent presidential campaign, per a report from The Hill.

Referring to the nonpartisan organization No Labels that would have paired her with a Democrat on the 2024 ticket, Haley stated in an interview with Fox News, “I’ve been a conservative Republican my whole life. I’m not going to switch over and have a Democrat vice president. That’s not something I would do.”

The former two-term governor of South Carolina remarked, “My heart has always been with the Republican Party and this country. So that’s what I’m gonna do.”

What did Nikki Haley say in the Fox News interview?

Fox News host Martha MacCallum suggested that Haley's only two chances of winning are by running on an independent ticket and continuing to compete in the GOP presidential race "just in case the Trump Train implodes, and you hope that you'll be the alternative to that."

The 52-year-old former UN ambassador responded, “I’m sitting here focused on Super Tuesday states,” adding, “That’s what I’m going to do.”

Haley claimed she has not had any conversations with political groups, such as No Labels, which announced this past weekend that they would be considering asking her to lead a split-party presidential ticket this year.

“I’m a Republican. I have not talked to any other organization. I have not put a second of thought into an independent run because I’m a Republican. That’s what I’ve always been,” Haley asserted.

Haley's recent demonstrations of resistance coincide with a narrowing path to the GOP presidential nomination.

Although she surpassed polling predictions in the South Carolina primary held over the past weekend, she still trailed the party's front-runner, former President Donald Trump, by approximately 20 points, receiving only 40 percent support compared to his 60 percent.

Following her concession of the South Carolina primary, Haley pledged not to withdraw from the race, citing the importance for GOP voters to have a choice between candidates rather than a one-candidate election a la Soviet style.

However, the day after her home state primary defeat, No Labels' national director revealed in an interview that they were seeking exceptional quality individuals to lead their independent ticket in 2024.

The director revealed, “Nikki Haley is somebody (we’d) definitely be interested in.”

Internet weighs in as Nikki Haley refuses to drop out of presidential race

People on X commended the Republican presidential contender for sticking to her guns and staying put in the race despite defeats in every early voting state.

One X user remarked, "Time to hang it up. You fought a good fight"

Another user claimed, "The problem for MAGA Republicans is that they cannot dismiss Nikki Haley by declaring her a RINO.... she is more conservative than their conservative gurus. The GOP needs more conservatives who are willing to ditch Trump. Haley is creating such a faction."

Another user wrote, "More proof that Nikki Haley is not a democrat."

"Good, her supporters should vote for Biden in the general instead of throwing their votes away on a third party," one user said.

"She thinks Trump is going to prison and wants as many delegates as possible," another X user asserted

One user tweeted, "Her running independent would be a godsend for Trump :-\ so it's good she's not."
