Tippi Hedren makes rare appearance as daughter Melanie Griffith celebrates 'feisty' mom's 95th birthday
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Tippi Hedren, who is known for classics including 'The Birds' and 'Marnie', celebrated turning 95 on Sunday, January 19.
Hedren's daughter, actress Melanie Griffith, 67, wished her "feisty" mother a happy birthday by sharing a rare video of the Hollywood legend on Monday, January 20.
"My beautiful Mama turned 95 yesterday! 🥰♥️🥰♥️🥰 She’s happy, healthy and feisty!!" Griffith wrote about her mother, who is currently battling with dementia.
She also gave a preview of Hedren's pastel green confetti cake, which had the words "Happy 95th Mor Mor" written on it. Given that "Mor Mor" translates to "mother mother" in Norwegian, it was a reference to Hedren's Norwegian heritage, per Daily Mail.

Tippi Hedren remains close with daughter Melanie Griffith and her four grandchildren
The actress began her illustrious career in the 1950s as a fashion model in New York City, but she became famous worldwide in the 1960s after appearing in Alfred Hitchcock's films 'The Birds' and 'Marnie'—the latter of which earned Hedren a Golden Globe for most promising newcomer in 1964.
Besides her six-decade filmography, Hedren has a sizable extended family. She welcomed her daughter Griffith in 1957 with her then-husband, advertising executive Peter Griffith, whom she divorced four years later, per People.
Moreover, Hedren is the grandmother of Griffith's four children: Stella Banderas, 28, Dakota Johnson, 35, Alexander Bauer, 39, and Jesse Johnson, 42.
Hedren celebrated her 94th birthday in 2024 by spending the day with her family. "It may not be exciting to the rest of the world, but as a mother and grandmother it's the perfect way to celebrate," she told People.
Griffith posted pictures from the celebrations, showing Hedren sporting bright pink lipstick and spectacles with the words "CAKE TIME!" splattered on them.
Hedren even maintains contact with her ex-son-in-law Don Johnson, whom Griffith was married to twice, in 1976 and 1989, before finally divorcing again in 1996.
