‘Stole another man’s wife’: TJ Holmes trolled for saying he was accused of stealing phone during flight
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Former ABC anchor TJ Holmes was "accused of stealing somebody’s cell phone" during a recent flight to Los Angeles.
On Tuesday’s episode, April 30, of the 'Amy & TJ' podcast, the former 'GMA3: What You Need To Know' anchor divulged details of the unusual encounter he had with Amy Robach while they were going about their routine business on a JetBlue aircraft.
TJ Holmes wrongfully accused of theft on flight to Los Angeles
During the recent 'Amy & TJ' podcast episode, Holmes, 46, claimed that he and Robach, 51, were traveling to Los Angeles on a JetBlue when a woman alleged that she thought Holmes had taken her phone.
A woman seated in seat 1F abruptly stopped the TV host as he was leaving the first-class restroom.
Holmes recounted, "I was using the bathroom up front — right next to the cockpit — and I come out and there’s a flight attendant standing there with this little old lady," adding that the woman had "white with dirty blond hair".
"She’s standing there and the flight attendant asks, ‘Did you see a phone in there?’ and I immediately turned around and said, ‘Oh, no. I didn’t see anything.'"
The passenger then "stepped towards" Holmes despite his denial and "gestured like she was about to frisk [him]."
He recalled, "She steps toward me and gestures — almost like she's about to frisk me — and says, ‘Oh, you don't have it.'"
Then, he added, "[She] flat out accuses me of taking her phone," per PEOPLE.
Holmes asked her to explain why she was approaching him, stating that he was taken aback by the accusation.
"At this point, she's a short lady, so I actually scooch, I crouch down, I put my hands on my knees and get down to her level, and I say, ‘Ma'am, are you telling me I took your phone?’" he said.
"And then she says, ‘Oh, no, but it was there,’ and then kind of ignores me."
Despite her attempt to "ignore" Holmes, the flight attendant expressed regret for the incident in a "overly apologetic" manner.

As expected, the traveler found her phone "in her seat" and "turned" to face Holmes, "mortified, screaming across the five rows, ‘I’m so sorry!'"
Holmes concurred with Robach when she remarked, "Sorry just doesn't cut it at that point."
She added that these doubts will only be experienced by "certain people." Holmes claimed he maintained his composure and expressed gratitude that others were present to see it and give him the strength to defend himself.
Holmes explained: "I have to be calm. If there weren’t more people around then I wouldn’t have bent down and been as assertive as I was because I wouldn’t have a witness that I wasn’t aggressive towards her," per Page Six.
Robach recalled that the flight attendant came back to her and Holmes, apologizing again and explaining that the woman had been acting in a "difficult" and "crazy" manner the entire time.
“But that was a wild flight experience," said Holmes.
Internet trolls TJ Holmes accused of stealing woman's phone
Social media users didn't waste time and took to Facebook to troll the former 'GMA' anchor, with one stating: "Didn't care about their romance other than sorry for their spouses. Still don't care. They each got a lot of money for contract buyouts, so they'd better manage it well long term."
A second one seethed, "To be fair he did steal someone's wife. I kid, I kid!"
"TJ shot back “I don’t steal phones, just wives!!” exclaimed a third one, echoing a similar sentiment.
A fourth one chimed in, "The more I see about this guy the more I think how lucky his wife is to be rid of him."
"Dude is a hot mess express," snarked another one, while one more remarked, "Well, you're known for stealing, you stole another mans wife."
