TJ Holmes rushed to hospital after injuring himself during Chicago Marathon with Amy Robach
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: TJ Holmes was transported to the hospital by ambulance after sustaining an injury during the Chicago Marathon.
Holmes, 47, participated in the race alongside Amy Robach on Sunday, October 13. Robach, 51, later updated her followers on social media about Holmes’ injury, stating, “Mile 21 and the Achilles gave out,” accompanied by a photo of his legs strapped to a stretcher inside the ambulance.

Three hours later, TJ Holmes shared his own update on Instagram, posting a photo of himself looking exhausted on the stretcher, covered with a blanket from the waist down.
In his Instagram carousel, he included a second image of his strapped legs and a video that appeared to be recorded by Robach, showing him listening to instructions from an emergency officer. He captioned his post, “So, this happened. Full story to come …. 😢#DNF #chicagomarathon.”

Less than an hour before Robach’s post, she had shared a smiling selfie of herself and Holmes running alongside a crowd of participants in the 26.2-mile race.
The former 'Good Morning America' co-anchors, who revealed earlier this month that they are living together “full time,” share a love of running, having previously competed in the New York City Half Marathon together in March after first taking part in the event as colleagues in November 2022.

Reflecting on their transition from colleagues to partners, Amy Robach discussed their experience on the 'Amy & T.J.' podcast, saying, “So we went back to work for two days after that tabloid that shall not be named released those photos. As we pointed out, just discovering us in a private relationship. They did not catch us cheating, that was not what happened.”
She noted the support they received from coworkers during that time, but Holmes interjected that some of those sentiments felt “fake” and “absolute B.S.”
Robach further revealed that after she and Holmes were let go from their jobs, many of their colleagues distanced themselves. “But once it was clear that we weren’t coming back, I never heard from most people again,” she admitted.
