NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: In a dramatic turn of events, Ben Affleck allegedly ghosted Jennifer Lopez before the actress filed for divorce on August 20, the day what could have been their second anniversary. 

According to People, Lopez was “blindsided” when Affleck suddenly began moving his belongings out of their shared home while she was in New York in April. A source described the situation, saying, “Ben began moving his things out of their shared home while Jennifer was in New York in April, effectively blindsiding her.”

Upon her return to Los Angeles in May, Jennifer Lopez was met with a cold silence as Ben Affleck "wouldn’t answer her texts or calls."

The situation escalated when Lopez filed for divorce on August 20, a decision made without legal representation.

The filing revealed that the couple had separated on April 26. With no prenuptial agreement in place, the split is set to be contentious. Moreover, Lopez also claimed that the full extent of her and Ben Affleck's assets remains 'unknown' to her.

As the source told People, “There are some sticking points over financials,” and Lopez and Affleck are currently in “mediation” with celebrity attorney Laura Wasser over the terms of their separation.

California’s community property laws dictate that income accrued during their two-year marriage should be divided equally. Despite the unfolding drama, Affleck seems to be maintaining a positive outlook.

“He’s happy with how it’s coming along,” a source revealed, noting that Affleck is focused on the positives and enjoying his new neighborhood.

Jennifer Lopez has also shared a couple of reels on her IG, sharing moments with her brand, Delola, possibly trying to reimagine herself after the ugly divorce. 

However, the couple's troubles were further exacerbated when Affleck spent their second anniversary with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner. This move reportedly pushed Lopez to her breaking point.

An insider claimed, “JLo is vowing to make Ben rue the day he decided to make her look like a loser!”

Page Six added that Affleck’s actions have led Lopez to feel that “he’s made her look like a total fool by parading around with his ex-wife,” and now she’s prepared to “go for his jugular!”
