PENSACOLA, FLORIDA: While Todd Chrisley may be living in appalling conditions at Federal jail Camp Pensacola in the Florida panhandle, he could face harsher circumstances if he is transferred to a different prison.

After being found guilty of bank fraud and other offenses, Todd and his wife Julie Chrisley reported to prison a year ago. Given their circumstances, their children and legal team have spoken on their behalf for the most part during the past few months.

Todd, whose 12-year sentence had been shortened to 10 years, complained that the guards didn't treat him fairly.

The possibility that the former 'Chrisley Knows Best' star would relocate is currently being considered. However, Todd reportedly does not want to move and his attorney has given specifics on why.

Why is Todd Chrisley not interested in switching prisons?

According to TMZ, the 'Chrisley Knows Best' star might be sent to a separate federal jail but it seems like he is not pleased about that.

Todd is currently incarcerated at the Federal Prison Camp in Pensacola, Florida, serving a 10-year sentence. Todd's lawyer, Jay Surgent, now claims that even if he's not happy with his stay, he is unlikely to rush to go to a different institution.

Todd is reportedly concerned about possible reprisals from the authorities and guards at the new prison because of his remarks regarding Federal Prison Camp (FPC), as per CinemaBlend.

The imprisoned former real estate tycoon appears to be worried about a possible shift due to another factor as well: his family.

It has been claimed that Todd is concerned about being transferred to a distant location, making it more difficult for his family to visit him.

Currently, Todd and Julie's daughter Savannah pays him regular visits and has been speaking out for them.

According to TMZ, Jay Surgent has not yet received his client's official notice of transfer. The Federal Prison Bureau has likewise not commented regarding a purported move.

Todd Chrisley earlier slammed Federal Prison Camp, Pensacola

In a December 2023 interview with NewsNation's senior national correspondent Brian Entin, Todd Chrisley, 54, criticized Federal Prison Camp (FPC) and talked about his living conditions there in Pensacola, Florida.

Todd complained at the time that the food being supplied to him and the other prisoners was expired and that he was not receiving enough calories each day.

He described the food he is served in prison as "disgustingly filthy" and "out of date by, at minimum, a year."

"They are literally starving these men to death here," he continued. "The only food that I eat is what I make that I buy from the commissary."

Furthermore, Todd said that his daughter received a picture of him while he was sleeping, which was given to her as a form of blackmail demanding "protection" money.

Savannah Chrisley previously made plenty of noise regarding the claimed ailments that both of her parents are going through. She earlier claimed that her mother had snakes in her living room and neither Julie nor Todd had access to air conditioning.

Todd is currently waiting for the next move in his and Julie's appeal of their case, while the topic of his living conditions remains a matter of conjecture. The date of the oral arguments in their case is April 25, 2024.

It remains to be seen if they will eventually succeed in that regard. This also applies to the question of whether Todd will transfer to a different prison.
