PARIS, FRANCE: Tom Cruise's appearance at the Paris Olympics closing ceremony has sparked speculations whether the 62-year-old actor has undergone cosmetic procedures, as reported by The Daily Mail.
While Cruise wowed audiences with his daring stunts, it was his noticeably altered face that drew the most attention. Many viewers took to social media to comment on the actor's "puffy" and "bloated" appearance, with some suggesting that he might have gone overboard with cosmetic work.

Experts analyze Tom Cruise’s face amid fresh rumors of cosmetic work
According to plastic surgeon Kshem Yapa, Tom Cruise's appearance could be the result of a facelift combined with fat grafting, a procedure that restores a youthful look by repositioning facial tissues and adding volume.
"It can be an effective combination, and it's an operation I frequently do myself, but you have to take care with the amount of fat you put into the face," he said.
"As we age, two things happen — we develop skin laxity, so the face droops and you see deeper nose-to-mouth lines, jowls and a loose neck. We also lose volume, from around the temples and mid face, which can lead to a more gaunt appearance."
"A facelift moves the facial tissue back into their more youthful position, while fat — taken from elsewhere in the body, usually the stomach or flanks, and placed into the face using tiny injections — supplements lost volume."
"But those fat grafts will still behave like stomach fat, even in the face."
"So we warn patients if they put on weight, they'll put it on in their face quite visibly. You also have to be judicious in how much you graft into the face, for this reason."
Yapa warned that excessive fat grafting can lead to a "mask-like" appearance, which might explain Cruise's current look.
"It's a puffy, mask-like appearance where the mid-face doesn't move."
Other experts have also suggested that Cruise may have used non-invasive treatments like Botox or micro-needling, which can cause temporary swelling.
This isn't the first time Cruise's face has sparked rumors. In 2021, he was seen with similarly "bloated" cheeks, only to appear more youthful a year later. The recent changes in his appearance have led to further speculation, with some suggesting that the fluctuations might be due to an excess of fat grafting or even the use of medication like steroids, which can cause fluid retention.
Dr Fadi Hamadani, a renowned plastic surgeon, has weighed in on the ongoing speculation over Tom Cruise's appearance. Dr Hamadani praised the actor's youthful look, which many attribute to his dedication to fitness and an active lifestyle. However, Dr Hamadani suggested that Cruise may have also opted for non-invasive cosmetic procedures to maintain his young look.
While Dr Hamadani emphasized that there's no confirmation of any specific procedures, he noted that celebrities like Cruise often turn to treatments such as fillers or Botox to reduce wrinkles and restore lost facial volume.
"Celebrities often turn to options like fillers or Botox to reduce wrinkles and restore facial volume," he said.
"Additionally, advanced procedures like Morpheus8, which blends micro needling with radiofrequency energy, and FaceTite, a minimally invasive contouring treatment, can also help achieve a more youthful, tightened appearance."
"These treatments are popular for those aiming to subtly enhance their features while maintaining a natural look."
The speculation around Cruise's face was reignited after recent photos from his holiday in Majorca showed what appeared to be sagging skin on his torso. This, coupled with his noticeably different facial appearance at the Olympic closing ceremony, has led many to believe that the actor might have undergone some form of cosmetic intervention.
Despite the rumors, Dr Hamadani's insights suggest that if Cruise has had work done, it was likely performed with the intent to enhance his features without drastic changes.

Another individual remarked, "Yes, I thought he looked different! Besides aging, he looks puffed up, has bags under his eyes, etc. I think he had some kind of procedure done?!"
Another commenter was more critical, stating, "He is not the Tom Cruise that we know. He does not age right. He must have his face altered. He must be afraid to accept the reality that we age. He destroyed his original face, which was good-looking."
