LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Isla Fisher has broken her silence on social media over a month after announcing her separation from her husband Sacha Baron Cohen.
The 48-year-old actress took to her Instagram to share her gratitude to the fans who supported her after the pair announced in April that they had filed for divorce.
Sharing a photo of herself on Instagram Story on Tuesday, May 14, the ‘Wolf Like Me’ star wrote, “Thank you for all your kindness and support,” along with a kissing face with a heart emoji.
Isla Fisher and Sacha Baron Cohen separated after 20 years together
Back in April, the estranged pair announced through a joint statement that they had separated in 2023.
Fisher and the ‘Borat’ actor wrote, "After a long tennis match lasting over twenty years, we are finally putting our racquets down. In 2023 we jointly filed to end our marriage."
They continued, “We have always prioritized our privacy, and have been quietly working through this change. We forever share in our devotion and love for our children. We sincerely appreciate your respecting our family’s wish for privacy.”
Fisher and Baron Cohen met at a private party in Sydney in 2001. After dating for around three years, the former couple got engaged in 2004. They went on to welcome their first child together, daughter Olive, in October 2007. They tied the knot in 2010 in a private ceremony in Paris.
In 2010, they welcomed their second daughter Elula, and their third child together, a son named Montgomery was born in 2015.
The announcement of the separation came at a time when Sacha Baron Cohen was battling controversies surrounding Rebel Wilson's sexual harassment accusations against the actor on the sets of 'Brothers Grimsby'.
