Tori Kelly’s national anthem version for Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul match turned heads for all right reasons

ARLINGTON, TEXAS: Tori Kelly ‘was perfection’ personified as she performed a magnificent version of the national anthem before Mike Tyson and Jake Paul's boxing match.

As Mike Tyson and Jake Paul were readying themselves for their much-anticipated fight on Friday, November 15, the 31-year-old took the stage to belt out her version of the National Anthem that left a lasting impression on the fans.

While the night was about Tyson and Paul’s much-hyped-about match, the multiple Grammy winner scripted history as she performed a soulful rendition of ‘Star Spangled Banner’ to the packed AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, amid much applaud.

Tori Kelly, who has an impressive resume consisting of hits like ‘Never Alone’, ‘Paper Hearts’, and ‘Dear No One’, took center stage on Friday, November 15, to perform ‘Star Spangled Banner’ as many fans joined the chorus along with her. 

Since the match was taking place in the Dallas Cowboys’ home ground, several Cowboys fans opted to perform their “stars” chant in the middle of the anthem as well, according to The Sun. 

As Kelly concluded her performance with much aplomb, the crowd erupted into a thunderous cheer to give their whole-hearted support to her performance. 

After the anthem, the 58-year-old Mike Tyson and the 27-year-old Jake Paul completed their walkouts to ready for their bouts. 

After eight rounds of boxing, Paul emerged as the winner of the match, marking the seventh loss in Tyson’s career. Tyson was listed as the underdog in the match owing to his age and the fact that he last professionally boxed in 2005.

Tori Kelly's rendition of the national anthem ahead of Mike Tyson and Jake Paul's fight not only enamored the fans but also made them declare in unison that it was the "best anthem" they have ever heard before a show. Some of the fans even declared she "was truly the main event" after the fans struggled with buffering while streaming.  

One of the social media user declared, "Best part of the show."

"Sang it Beautifully, this is how it should be. This is how I want my grandkids to sing it. With respect," chimed in another enamored fan. 

Another fan cheered, "Tori Kelly opening up for the fight. that’s my girl!!"

"Tori Kelly can sing all the national anthems that was perfection," noted someone else flooded by Kelly's singing.

"Tori kelly is the first person to actually sing the national anthem good this year dude," mused another social media user. 

Enchanted by Kelly's singing ahead of the match, one quipped, "That's so disrespectful of them to have a ufc fight during a tori kelly concert."

"Tori kelly was truly the main event tonight," declared another fan. 

Someone else added, "No joke maybe the best anthem I’ve heard before an event."
