LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Tori Spelling made her 'Dancing With The Stars' debut in season 33 premiere on Tuesday, September 17. However, the 'Beverly Hills, 90210' alum was subjected to a barrage of social media trolls, making fun of her appearance.

However, Spelling — who was partnered with dancing pro Pasha Pashkov — also has a devoted following of admirers who jumped to her defense.

Tori Spelling was negatively compared to blond-haired Muppet Janice

During rehearsals for the season premiere, Spelling flaunted her firm tummy and slender yet muscular arms. She also flaunted an especially trim figure on the dance floor alongside Pasha.

While some cruel Internet trolls made fun of the '90210' actress and reality star's puffy face, others made fun of her skinny appearance.

Several trolls even made disparaging comparisons between the 51-year-old actress and the blond-haired Muppet Janice, as per Daily Mail.

One user sarcastically wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "Loving tori spelling on dwts this season!! #DWTS", along with a photo of the hippy singer Muppet.

The trolls appeared to focus on Tori's puffy lips, alluding to another puppet's oversized lips. Another harsh post with a puppet motif showed a young fast food worker with swollen lips from the Nickelodeon cartoon Mr Meaty.

"Listen I’m all for people doing what they want to make themselves feel their best but Tori Spelling looks like Mr. Meaty #DWTS," the user wrote.

Tori was also compared to the Muppet Janice by another troll, who went on to add that she resembled "The crypt keepers wife."

A spiteful poster merely uploaded a gif of Steve Carell's agonized expression from 'The Office' with the remark, "Tori Spelling."

Some viewers took issue with Spelling's alleged usage of fillers or plastic surgery. One troll remarked, "Tori Spelling might be 87% plastic at this point."

Some of the nastiest trolls were not just after Spelling's face; they also had their sights focused on her body.

One cruel comment included the phrase that she "desperately needs to eat...A LOT!!" and was followed by a skull and shocked emoji. A second user mocked, "Tori Spelling reminds me of a Funko Pop #DWTS."

Another enquired, "Did Tori Spelling get botox or fillers on her lips? #DWTS".

Tori Spelling's ardent followers defend her against brutal online trolls

Along with those who were furious over the body shaming remarks, some of Spelling's most ardent supporters were also disappointed at her low performance score, believing that she performed better than a few of her competitors with higher scores.

Spelling's loudest supporters came into her defense as one wrote, "I adore @torispelling leave her body alone! America STOP BODY SHAMING".

A second supporter added, "Already seeing people bodyshaming Tori Spelling in the #DWTS hashtag. Not cool! It's 2024, time to knock it off with talking about how somebody looks and their body."

"Yall better be nice to Tori spelling this season #dwts," warned a third supporter.

Another fan declared, "If Tori Spelling has ten fans, then I am one of them. If Tori Spelling has only one fan then that is me. If Tori Spelling has no fans, then that means I am no longer on earth. If the world is against Tori Spelling, than I am against the world".

One admirer said that Spelling's late co-star Shannen Doherty from '90210' is "applauding her," writing, "@torispelling I know you said Shannen Doherty was a big reason you finally agreed to do @officialdwts. She's looking down and applauding you girl."

Tori Spelling admits to trying diabetes treatment drug Ozempic

The social media trolling followed Spelling's admission earlier this year that she had used diabetic medication Ozempic to help lose weight following the birth of her youngest kid.

She acknowledged that she had switched to the comparable medication Mounjaro in order to help her lose weight swiftly when Ozempic didn't work for her.

During her 'misSpelling' podcast, Spelling said she was "lucky" to be able to drop weight after having her first four children. However, she tried the diabetes medications after she "couldn't lose" the baby weight from her now seven-year-old son Beau.

It is unknown, however, if she had used any comparable drugs prior to making her 'Dancing With The Stars' appearance.

Tori Spelling reveals why she said yes to 'Dancing With the Stars' after 32 seasons

Tori Spelling revealed to her partner Pasha Pashkov at the season 33 premiere that she had turned down the chance to participate in the reality competition series for the previous 32 seasons.

When asked what was different during Season 33, the 'Beverly Hills, 90210' alum brought up her divorce from Dean McDermott.

She explained, "[Turning] 50 hit, and my life exploded. I’m going through a really public divorce. I’m really trying to find myself again," per Us Weekly.

"I found her! It only took me 51 years," Tori remarked with excitement before adding that she is "really out of [her] comfort zone."

Spelling filed for divorce from McDermott, 57, in March after over 18 years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences.
